I doubt the Sox sign both Yamamoto and Nola. Very highly. If the Sox need 2 starting pitchers, and simply do not have an unlimited budget, who do you sign? 1. Nola/Snell/Yamamoto and Alex Cobb 2. Sonny Gray and Marcus Stroman Nola, Snell and Yamamoto were all on MLBTRs top ten free agent list, along with Giolito (for some reason) and Urias (I believe the list predates his issues). But not Gray and Stroman. And the new wild card who should presumably hit their next top ten is Trevor Bauer…

I’d think the only reason the Angels move Trout is to clear salary to re-sign Ohtani. Injuries or not, Trout is a big name player who sells tickets. I’d have to think the Angels top priority would be unloading what’s left of Anthony Rendon plus as much as possible of what’s left of his contract…

Maybe we could put Martinez in LF, move Yoshida to RF, bring back Turner to DH. And at that point let’s just plug Duran in T second and not worry about it. Because outside of CF and SS, no one else kid going to be able to field a batted ball anyway. We also need some pitching capable of 27 K/9
