  1. Chances of that are well beyond less than zero. Trading for MLB-ready SP is the hardest thing for a GM to do, unless you want to give up Anthony or Mayer. Any MLB-ready SP you can get for Verdugo, you don’t want…
  2. I doubt the Sox sign both Yamamoto and Nola. Very highly. If the Sox need 2 starting pitchers, and simply do not have an unlimited budget, who do you sign? 1. Nola/Snell/Yamamoto and Alex Cobb 2. Sonny Gray and Marcus Stroman Nola, Snell and Yamamoto were all on MLBTRs top ten free agent list, along with Giolito (for some reason) and Urias (I believe the list predates his issues). But not Gray and Stroman. And the new wild card who should presumably hit their next top ten is Trevor Bauer…
  3. That scenario is about as likely as Chapman…
  4. Yes. Used to play QB in the NFL back before the family shortened the name for tax purposes…
  5. Pencil in Bello, Crawford, Sale and Pivetta for the bottom 3 slots. Obviously on the occasion Day Sale is healthy one of Pivetta or Crawford gets bumped. Sign Sonny Gray. Then see how you can get that last starter. Trade? Another FA? Beg? Borrow? Steal? Just no Houck and no Whitlock!!
  6. He would if the other option was Kyle Ort…
  7. I-5 doesn’t go near Edison?
  8. One could also argue that logic applies to every team in history…
  9. But the Sox never DFAd the rally monkey…
  10. He was referring to first 2 innings only…
  11. I think it’s a team option that automatically vests if he meets the terms…
  12. Only is odd numbered years apparently
  13. The David Eckstein Era…
  14. He was very injury prone in 2020…
  15. BTV rejects it. Torres alone for Verdugo and Urias is a minor overpay. Schmidt is the most valuable player of the four on their site. Verdugo and Drohan for Torres works…
  16. Semien has only missed 11 games in the past 6 seasons!
  17. Sort of like David Price…
  18. I’d think the only reason the Angels move Trout is to clear salary to re-sign Ohtani. Injuries or not, Trout is a big name player who sells tickets. I’d have to think the Angels top priority would be unloading what’s left of Anthony Rendon plus as much as possible of what’s left of his contract…
  19. Actually my biggest concern is the plantar fasciitis. I don’t think he’s a bad player. But I doubt whoever the Sox hire has him on the radar. The Luis Urias Status Quo is far more likely…
  20. Maybe we could put Martinez in LF, move Yoshida to RF, bring back Turner to DH. And at that point let’s just plug Duran in T second and not worry about it. Because outside of CF and SS, no one else kid going to be able to field a batted ball anyway. We also need some pitching capable of 27 K/9
  21. Obviously not happening. Jonathan India is more likely. Not a bopper, but at least he’s a good hitter who also knows how to take a walk. And buried in the middle infield depth of the Reds…
  22. Also position. Not to mention last time he was playing for Boston, he didn’t approach those numbers for some reason…
  23. So.. Alex Verdugo for Gleyber Torres?
  24. Father Time is not undefeated. He was soundly trounced by Jamie Moyer…
  25. Every Whit Everywhere All At Once?
