  1. And the notion that Player X “didn’t work out” can be a subjective. Dombrowski kept Benintendi and dealt Manny Margot. There really isn’t much difference between these two players. Benintendi had a terrific 2018, which certainly helped. But overall they’re essentially the same player since 2018 (Benintendi has 7.9 bWAR in that stretch while Margot has 7.8.)
  2. Ignoring DD’s bad contracts is basically saying “ignore what DD does wrong and he does everything right.” Bloom was a flop, but it wasn’t the analytical approach. The Dodgers and the Astros have both enjoyed non-stop success with former Tampa front office analytical types…
  3. I didn’t realize only 11 players in team history have had an annual salary of $20mill or more under Henry. And that’s counting Mookie’s one year deal in 2020…
  4. So not all that many were traded, and Price, AGon and Crawford remain the only ones dealt with substantial money left..,
  5. Then we’re good…
  6. Just hire Romero and move on…
  7. Didn’t see the list but I know the stories. Not many has actual meat still on the contracts. Price did, but that was still bad because the Sox had to attach Mookie. Trading AGon and Crawford was a difference maker (despite getting nothing back) while trading Manny with 2 months left on an 8 year deal, not so much (despite getting something)…
  8. I saw it coming to some extent when he signed Price. The other forum was still around but I did comment I’d rather have seen the money go to extending Betts. Although I at least liked the opt out big hoped Price would exercise it…
  9. Awww…. You’re adorable when you scream “victim!!”
  10. Hey the winning was nice, but Dombrowski left this as an 84 win team and $300mill committed to Sale, Price and Eovaldi spanning 11 seasons and with 10 of them in the books, only one time did a pitcher to 110 IP. He also gave that stupid opt out contract to Bogaerts and didn’t sign Betts. And according to Mookie, didn’t really even try (although I don’t believe Mookie there). Were you happy with that aspect of Dombrowski? Or are you living in a world where that didn’t happen and certainly didn’t impact this team afterwards?
  11. No one would have had to do anything like that in Boston if Dombrowski just signed Betts to an extension…
  12. Depending on their budget, next year could be the last year of the run for the Phillies. After 2024, the Phillies have over $570mill committed on future contracts but only $36mill of it is dedicated pitching. Specifically to Taijuan Walker. MLB Pipeline ranks their farm 23rd. They do have two very good pitching protects in Andrew Psinter and Mick Abel. Painter missed this season with Tommy John surgery…
  13. That’s a simple plan. An overhaul is possible…
  14. DD only signed Schwarber, Castellanos and Turner. And there probably are more of them than you can possibly imagine. Of course we’re talking about Philadelphia sports fans here. They’re going to complain no matter what…
  15. He was injured or coming off one when extended. But historically at the time his injury history was far less. He hasn’t even had his first TJ back then…
  16. Asking a serious question - why do you belittle baseball fans for talking about baseball and for getting excited when their team is doing well?
  17. Maybe. It’s definitely over in Milwaukee…
  18. If you trade for them before March, you could get the draft pick back…
  19. Some believe the Sox need a right-handed bat as well…
  20. I don’t think either is a bad move, although Matt Chapman might be a top 5 free agent and therefore very costly. Not sure if Adames will be available but that depends on how Milwaukee handles their final year arb guys (like Burnes, too) in the aftermath of hearing Woodruff is out for next year…
  21. Seems like Old Red gets a little desperate to pat himself on the back. This is shown even more with how he disappears when he looks wrong and how he twists and fictionalizes others’ words to discredit them while promoting himself…
  22. I will call that Exhibit B concerning your reading comprehension…
  23. I agree it’s unlikely, but I hope if something unforeseen happens like Milwaukee makes Willy Adames available, the Sox don’t avoid checking in on this because they won’t move Story back to 2b…
  24. I’m starting to realize just how bad your reading comprehension is…
  25. It’s not a wish. I’m just acknowledging the possibility that whoever is in charge will have ideas that differ from last year’s lineup. And if the Sox do hire someone who shakes up the infield, it’s pretty doubtful Cora will put up a fuss. Most likely he will go along…
