  1. My grass isn’t even growing this time of year. Should I paint something so we can talk about how out dries?
  2. So you’re saying his rested and eager?
  3. But do so carefully…
  4. Maybe. Or maybe between $265-300mill? Do we really want to believe Henry refused to spend for the healthy future Hall of Famer but greenlighted the injured pitcher with body mechanics concerns?
  5. We’re always going to be in the dark. We all would have greatly preferred Betts over Bogaerts/Sale, but the latter two were consolation prizes. I’m not sure I find it believable that a Henry poopoo’d $300mill for Betts but rubber stamped $265mill for Sale and Bogaerts, all in the same week. I think Betts really, really wanted to try free agency. And it took a partially canceled season to change his mind. The Dodgers took a weekend to extend Glasnow; that’s how it has historically gone for most players. But it took months to extend Betts. Maybe he wasn’t so amenable at first with them either…
  6. What if they’re in the postseason hunt?
  7. Yu Chang, baby!
  8. Why? Betts was never a free agent. Comparing his situation to free agents is apples and basketballs…
  9. My other question is simple. You keep citing no one in the Boston organization refuted any counterclaims. Have you ever heard of any team ever refuting a claim like that? Or for any type of offer? I can’t think of any offhand, but that doesn’t mean I believe every single offer I’ve ever heard of was reported accurately. And in this case, you have heard it refuted. By Merloni, right? But he gets dismissed because “he’s a company guy.” Well, do we need it dismissed by a neutral third party now? Isn’t Betts a “company guy” when it comes to his personal brand? What it comes down to with me is 1) I understand I will never know all the details 2) teams rarely speak publicly on these things, which is usually political 3) most fans side with the players because that gives them a side that it’s easier to fault. But that’s didn’t mean they are getting the truth, rather just a truth they want…
  10. I haven’t paid any attention recently, but that certainly has not always been the case…
  11. Ok but all of these were free agents with the sole exception of Judge. Do you have nearly as many examples with contract extensions?
  12. That’s been my point. We don’t know the truth. But apparently not defaulting belief to the players is tantamount to treason. Mookie didn’t talk for 3 years and no one assumed anything either way.
  13. You seriously don’t see the difference between a 22yo in AAA and a 28yo in AAA?
  14. The one article from MLBTR that solely accounted for money spent of free agents had the Sox in the top ten. Eight actually. But they were not loooking at payroll or even money lost. Just money spent on free agents…
  15. You’re right. You can just smell the roses blooming over all of that fertilizer…
  16. None of that makes either one’s story the truth…
  17. You did far more research than was necessary. I knew it was fake from the first use of the name Reddit…
  18. My friend on the inside says his friend is a compulsive liar…
  19. We’re not even sure anyone would take Sale and his full salary, let alone give anything back…
  20. Not to distrust? So basically, you believe in what you wish for…
  21. I keep an open mind. It’s not like players have a long history of openness with the fans either…
  22. So you’re saying the players are the virtuous ones and you know this to be a fact? Got it…
  23. All bowl games since the 2007 Fiesta Bowl have been let downs….
  24. I have to say, Reddit is a step above fourchan…
