  1. Not looking good long term MLB Pipeline ranks their system, as 20th with only 2 top 100 prospects. And can they get more, considering how they overvalue their MLB talent?
  2. He probably wouldn't have faced any this year, but for a while there were no other options...
  3. Way to bombard us with cliches. You’re such a paper tiger with feet of clay…
  4. 1. He’s already been more successful than I anticipated!! 2. Of course I’m going to enjoy it while it lasts. Why would anyone enjoy it after it crashed to a grinding halt?
  5. Catch 22. We had to wait until they signed to see who got hurt…
  6. I think not only velocity, but how early some pitchers start throwing hard. A 98-100mph fastball in high school isn’t necessary to get hitters out, but it can translate quickly into big money as either a signing bonus or a scholarship. That’s way too much of a temptation for some young pitchers…
  7. Would you have preferred I said TikTok?
  8. All the pre-season Cooper Criswell jokes look ill-informed right now…
  9. I didn’t like it. Did that ball touch any part of the invisible box that changed in size with every batter? And I upped for Little Leaguers throwing 50mph and softball pitchers throwing 40-45mph (in some cases). I can’t even imagine firing it at 90-95mph. I’d probably just go by where the catchers glove is to make the call…
  10. It’s wrong. You’re not right…
  11. Can Hill’s kid pitch? We can sign them as a set. Also, no way Hill has a kid in Little League. Surely his kid is 30 by now…
  12. So when do the Sox decide to give Yoshida a 1b mitt?
  13. Trade value? Building it from what? To what? From 0 to 0 ?
  14. I saw it on some MLB Network show…
  15. Is it time to dust off Rich Hill yet? Ninth time is a charm
  16. I heard one journalist say 2014 and 2015 were worse…
  17. Bello to the IL. Starting rotation catches up to the infield. MLBTR thinks Sox will move Crawford up a day, since they recalled Zack Kelly, who isn’t a starter. Not sure why they’re bumping Crawford up a day, unless they think he’s getting lonely what with all his starter friends on the IL…
  18. They failed to get involved in the minor league pitching market. Eric Lauer? Domingo German? Zach Davies? Jake Odorizzi? They didn’t need a cheap Cy Young candidate, just a guy who could throw 140 IP and keep his ERA under 5.50…
  19. True, and what Jacques, Brasier and Dalbec all have in common is all of them would have OPSs under .200. The only reason to keep Dalbec at this point is to see if there is any value in covering him to a pitcher. I doubt anyone would claim him, but I won’t consider it a loss. I’m also starting to notice the errors the Sox have made with their DFAs. Why did this team ever get rid of Joel Payamps and Zack Littell?
  20. Predictably, Blake Snell is hurt. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/04/giants-blake-snell-injured-list-adductor-strain.html
  21. I blame Dalbec…
  22. Just DFA Dalbec. Seriously what does that guy have to not do to get cut? And it’s not like anyone is going to claim Dalbec. You can just re-sign him and use him to fortify Worcester’s lineup…
  23. 60% of the Sox projected opening day rotation is injured. Just because the replacement has been healthy doesn’t change this.
  24. Had he not opted out, he might have started in MLB last night…
