    I didn’t like it. Did that ball touch any part of the invisible box that changed in size with every batter? And I upped for Little Leaguers throwing 50mph and softball pitchers throwing 40-45mph (in some cases). I can’t even imagine firing it at 90-95mph. I’d probably just go by where the catchers glove is to make the call…

    Bello to the IL. Starting rotation catches up to the infield. MLBTR thinks Sox will move Crawford up a day, since they recalled Zack Kelly, who isn’t a starter. Not sure why they’re bumping Crawford up a day, unless they think he’s getting lonely what with all his starter friends on the IL…

    They failed to get involved in the minor league pitching market. Eric Lauer? Domingo German? Zach Davies? Jake Odorizzi? They didn’t need a cheap Cy Young candidate, just a guy who could throw 140 IP and keep his ERA under 5.50…

    True, and what Jacques, Brasier and Dalbec all have in common is all of them would have OPSs under .200. The only reason to keep Dalbec at this point is to see if there is any value in covering him to a pitcher. I doubt anyone would claim him, but I won’t consider it a loss. I’m also starting to notice the errors the Sox have made with their DFAs. Why did this team ever get rid of Joel Payamps and Zack Littell?

    Just DFA Dalbec. Seriously what does that guy have to not do to get cut? And it’s not like anyone is going to claim Dalbec. You can just re-sign him and use him to fortify Worcester’s lineup…

    Remember when Travis Shaw started the year 0 for 19 with only 7 strikeouts, and that was enough to DFA him despite the only other 1b on the Sox roster having a .457 OPS at the time? Just DFA Dalbec and claim Cooper. Or better yet, complete a trade for Cooper, as he is likely to generate some interest on the waiver wire…

    That was my point. I didn't want him to sell either year. I wanted him to try and make a solid push. But if he had sold either or both seasons, I would have understood it and begrudgingly accepted it...
