Last year the first 3 games out of the break were in LA. One game the Sox blew an 8th inning lead, one game they blew a 2 run lead in extra innings. (One of those 2 games ended on a Freeman walk off grand slam. I forget which one.) And then in the last game of that series, Kutter Crawford started his collapse, surrendering home runs to everyone in LA except Selma Hayek. Lets not repeat that… -
Well, what you are talking about with this “anemic offense” seems pretty unsupported beyond my comment. Were you referring to “only” scoring 14 runs in the 4 game Tampa series? Or the 29 runs in 3 games against Colorado? The 27 runs in 3 games against Washington? Or the mere 22 runs in 3 games against Cincinnati? Or were you using the phrase “of late” to mean something entirely different than is generally accepted?

Burger is a waste. Texas is reportedly looking to add a 1b at the deadline. If Burger was a good solution, that wouldn’t be necessary. Very, very doubtful the Angels trade 23yo Nolan Schanuel, a player they like so much he went right from signing his contract out of college to starting at 1b in MLB the same year. Hes 23 and IMO. a future star, better than his more hyped fellow draftee Wyatt Langford…

Instead of upgrading Wong, maybe the Sox need a catcher with an option left. They have only Wong and Narvaez on the 40 man roster and only Seby Zavala with any MLB experience in the minors, where he’s not exactly dazzling. With no more August trades, the Sox might want to add depth just in case of injury at catcher. Unless they’re fine with Zavala, who is there for them without taking up a 40 man spot… -
Scott Kingery? there was a Mike Kingery, but he was a nondescript outfielder for Seattle in the 1980s. Scott signed the big MLB deal out of college before playing a single professional game..
