  1. Finally, someone properly posts the definition of the word. "Consistency" isn't a good thing if you are consistently bad...
  2. Castillo would be more of an option for Boston if: 1) his contract was not so prohibitive in the wake of the new CBA. Like it or not, this appears to be a reality. And 2) Dombrowski didn't think Castillo was nothing more than a fourth OF.
  3. Does that mean they can finally get rid of Sweet Caroline?
  4. Travis isn't really a good trade chip, I agree. But he is MLB-ready, which seems to carry a lot of value. Whether Ockimey or Buttrey have more value is debatable and probably more related to the preference of the other GM. But more important, proves the point about how little the Sox have to offer right now. ...
  5. Does it have to be outrageous? When our best minor league trading chips are Jalen Beeks and Sam Travis, I think we run the risk of having players we simply cannot acquire...
  6. Maybe the Sox are trying to cash in on the success of the recent musical....
  7. No. Next question...
  8. Dozier is obviously the marquee name there. LeMahieu is another good option, despite the Coors boost. A very underrated name no one is mentioning is Asdrubal Cabrera. I'm not sure if the Sox can meet the asking prices for Dozier or LeMahieu, but I am pretty sure they can meet the Mets' price for Cabrera. (Also, TS posters would avoid the problems with LeMahieu's name and just call him DJLM or something like that.)
  9. I'd rather have Bradley than Hamilton. What's the purpose of this trade? To somehow try to downgrade the offense from the CF even more, but without compromising defense? If CF offense is your problem, Billy Hamilton is NOT the solution. Or maybe DD is trying to dump Swihart? Honestly, while this trade won't hurt the team much, if DD makes it, he needs to be fired that day...
  10. But maybe moonslav does
  11. I would think this is the number one position to be addressed. The top 2 options are both either disabled or hurting. Hlt has shown himself to be a short-term success story, but a long-term weakness throughout his career. The Sox don't have much to spend and can't afford to take on much money if they stick to their budget. But I would think upgrading 2B (and potentially some of the offense as well) would be at the top of the list...
  12. Think Beeks straight up for Lowrie makes sense for both team
  13. Arguably unsustainable stuff. Beane does typically trade for young MLB players with a lot of control or, if he takes prospects, they must be ready for MLB. So while Ball might not be on his wish list, Beeks might be. Not sure if Beeks is enough, but then Lowrie is a rental....
  14. Lowrie has been worth 2.3 fWAR. Nunez has been worth -0.8 fWAR. I'm not sure even a Nunez turnaround can make up that gap. ...
  15. Before the penalties go, it is entirely possible JBJ does...
  16. Lowrie has been worth 2.3 fWAR. Nunez has been worth -0.8 fWAR. I'm not sure even a Nunez turnaround can make up that gap. ...
  17. Not really sure you know how trades work...
  18. Plus they already have a Gold Glove center fielder with multiple years of control...
  19. I've been on the Rusney Castillo train longer than most nearly everyone, But even I don't advocate bringing him up this year and I get why he isn't coming up. ..
  20. No but he would be an upgrade over Nunez, and Holt has shown to wear down over time...
  21. It wasn't just Ellsbury. He freight trained Hermida, too. And also, Beltre, as terrific as his career has been, isn't the Sox biggest need right now...
  22. Exactly. I've seen do many posts where fans complain about how other teams promote their top prospects and deal with the development as it happens, but the Sox make the fans wait too long to see them. So when the Sox do bring a player up early and he struggles, that's not acceptable either....
  23. It's ready to rip Cora for bringing in Scott, but it's not like we know who else was available...
  24. Beltre is a Hall of Famer but not everyone who excels at something is a good teacher. And certainly not everyone wants to train their replacement. ..
  25. 2b, bullpen, and outfield (yes, outfield) are all higher priorities than 3b. And it's doubtful all of them get addressed...
