Sliders and kids throwing too hard too early. Lucas Giolito was throwing 100mph in high school. I can promise you he didn’t need that kind of heat to get high school hitters out. And predictably he had TJ before he graduated. But it worked for him. He got drafted early and paid a serious upfront bonus, probably over slot. And also probably severely shortened his career and increased his likelihood for having his second TJ before he turns 25... -
