When something unknown happens, you don't get to call a theory fact based on whether or not anyone can disprove it, and you don't get to label a theory an opinion just so no one can ever say it's wrong..
The most likely scenario is it created a partial disturbance of unknown size, which as my counter-theory to your theory, because it is easier to get a number smaller than 25 to agree on soemthing that it is to get 25 people to acgree on something.
