    Duran to Philadelphia. Philly 21yo SS prospect Aiden Miller to Pitt. Mitch Keller to Boston. Doesn’t work on BTV unless Philly also send AA LHP Moises Chace to Boston as well. Chace, however, is out for the rest of the year (and probably half of next year) after TJ. So someone else?

    Doubtful Skenes can be had without giving up one or both of Mayer and Anthony. BTV accepts a package of Campbell, Abreu, Arias and Tolle. But would Pittsburgh? Should Boston?

    Will Gallen and his 0.2 bWAR really cost more than Kelly? Both are 2 month rentals, so age isnt really a factor. Gallen is having a horrible year interrupted by the occasional good outing. Not sure if he can bounce back in two months. Expensive or not, avoid!

    Half the pitchers in the league are coming off injuries. The other half are heading towards them. I get passing on Alcantara. And Cabrera. But at some point, the Sox are going to have to take some sort of risk. Just preferably not a Buehler level risk…

    What available starter should the Sox pursue? Alcantara is available. Ditto the oft-injured Edward Cabrera. Other targets might be Mitch Keller, Seth Lugo and Zac Gallen. There are rumors about the availability of Joe Ryan and Mackenzie Gore. I have my doubts…

    Huh? Buehler was an injury risk. Giolito was not, but got injured a lot since arriving. Sandoval was signed to a recovery/pillow contract. Crawford, Houck and Bello have had various injuries. But it’s hardly the same as acquiring frequently injured arms. Acquiring a pitcher immune to injury would be awesome. But it’s just remains impossible…

    Sandy Alcantara. Free agent after 2026 with a $21mill option for 2027. Owed $25mill thru next year including $2mill buyout. Not having a good year at all. Still, BTV gives him a surplus value of $15.7 mill, roughly equal to Brandon Clarke ($16.3mill). But his past history and controllable cheap deal probably means he is worth more, especially given how many teams might be interested. Luis Severino might also be available. BTV has him as a straight salary dump…

    There are some Fungibles (Eaton, Sogard, possibly Grissom) that can be trimmed if necessary. Moving Hunter Dobbins to the 60 day IL will be the first move made to clear space when it’s needed…
