  1. Baseball Prospectus did have him at 25. Fangraphs had him at 61. I don’t have and am not getting a subscription to Baseball America. Deivi Garcia not a consensus top 25 prospect. I found only one publication that had him in the top 60...
  2. Maybe. But that’s not what Toronto wanted. And per MLB.com, Garcia is barely a Top 70 prospect. Top 70 is not grounds for being untouchable for a top MLB 5 pitcher in ERA who isn’t a rental...
  3. Top 5 on every list? MLB.com had him at 66 on their mid season list...
  4. Heart does. Head doesn’t..
  5. Which the Yankees didn’t know they would do at the time. Bottom line is Garcia and Flovial aren’t even great prospects. It’s not like they wanted Gore and Urias. Neither Garcia nor Flovial was a pre-season Top 100 in BA, and Flovial is struggling at Round 2 of A ball. Like most prospects, he’s looking more and more like he won’t amount to much. So it was basically Garcia for Stroman. How is that a deal you pass on?
  6. Apparently this has been covered. But it was a mistake for Cashman to not pull the trigger if this was the case...
  7. Reportedly Toronto wanted Deivi Garcia and Estevan Florial for Stroman. Did the Yankees think Stroman should cost less?
  8. I can’t believe someone wanted the Sox bullpen pieces...
  9. It’s not sunk if he plays up to a 2.0 fWAR capability...
  10. Does it? He said he’d walk. DD’s response to not spending more on the pen is Darwinzon Hernandez, who also walks a lot...
  11. I thought it was already started...
  12. Well they’re not paying Crawford anymore. But Pedroia is a highly paid spectator...
  13. Maybe next year. He might be making less than Bradley at that point...
  14. A lot of American League hitters would...
  15. I don’t get blaming the pitching coach. The team President/GM decided to bring back last year’s team right down to the backup first baseman. But not the bullpen, which he chose to ignore. Ever since Kimbrel and Kelly left, the only pitchers brought in to replace them Colten Brewer and Josh Taylor,..
  16. Yeah why would you want 1+ full seasons of an All Star Top 5 in ERA starting pitcher when you get can wait and reap the benefits of Estevan Florial? Assuming he ever gets out of A ball...
  17. That’s what I was telling Steve Pearce last October...
  18. Smart move. Hold on to a future set up guy and an outfielder flailing away at round 2 in A ball...
  19. He has a respectable 4.03 ERA in 67 postseason innings spanning 9 seasons...
  20. .... that may or may not work out within the condensed timeframe...
  21. I’m not happy. I’m glad the Sox didn’t deal, say, Mata for a middle reliever. But Carl Edwards Jr was dealt for a 27yo career minor leaguer. (Edwards has had a rough MLB season to date, but it’s only been 15 IP. He’s no savior, but anyone who pushes Josh Smith down a rung on the depth chart is a good add in my book.) Adam Kolarek was also acquired for nothing. Where was DD?
  22. Ok he was dealt from the Dodgers. To be fair to me, I bet Rosscup is having trouble remembering who he is pitching for on any given day...
  23. I’d be ok with it if I had any faith in the minor leagues supplying an effective reliever this year. But I don’t...
  24. So they unload Melancon and Dyson, but trade for Scooter Gennett, who is a free agent soon. I get moving Melancon’s contract, but if they’re buying free agent-to-be Gennett, why are they selling dirt cheap but rock solid Sam Dyson? Con. Few. Sing.
  25. Neither is Frazier...
