  1. If the Sox want defense at 2b and the budget is as Shaughnessy tells us Henry says, then the Sox should just sign Yolmer Sanchez. But otherwise, this doesn’t look like a position the Sox plan on spending money on. Tzu-Wei Lin and Jose Peraza might be a platoon here...
  2. The spending dry spell is over. Trevor Hildenberger is on board. (Actually it’s a minor league deal. So it’s a good thing.)
  3. And that everything they do is recorded for use against them ...
  4. Actually I think his case against the Yankees is pretty solid...
  5. I thought Tarpley was supposed to be the incentive to get a team to take Happ's salary. I guess you're stuck with Happ now...
  6. The overwhelming majority were AAAA retreads who’d all struggled and failed to impress in previous MLB appearances. Did anyone really expect anything out of Gorkys Hernandez, Chris Owings or Josh Smith?
  7. Not all that. It’s just easier. Plus it sends a better message to the kids about stealing...
  8. He was DFAd, but he’s still part of the Sox organization until he either gets traded, waived or refuses assignment...
  9. More so than prune-faced medical staff?
  10. Or... just call everybody out at second base...
  11. I don’t recall you making that statement...
  12. Not so sure. He makes a good case. After all, in high school he was the same height and weight as Corey Seager. (For those of you who have not read about this case, that’s actually part of his argument. Seriously. Go read about it.)
  13. I call it an apples/oranges comparison for the two best defensive players ever at their respective positions. Both should be enshrined...
  14. Epstein signed him once, too. And for a lot less money...
  15. So you’re saying they’re on crack and pot?!?
  16. I’m thinking Ryan Weber has some serious dirt on Bloom or Henry or both...
  17. Also he ruined the career of budding star Garrison Lassiter. At least that’s what the lawsuit says. But then, a lot of A-ball pitchers also ruined the career of Garrison Lassiter as well...
  18. You could make the same argument for Andruw Jones. Except the SS part...
  19. Is the cause for this exuberance the acquisition of Brice or the DFA of Hernandez? Both moves might be equally impactful...
  20. Well a lot of that is the open-to-interpretation rules and how some overturned calls can be problematic for positioning base runners...
  21. The simplest thing would be to enforce the existing pitch clock rules
  22. Bloom acquired Austin Brice from the Marlins tody for a nondescript minor league infielder. Marco Hernandez DFA'd. Brice was a DFA/waiver claim for the Marlins last year who worked out, but really outpitched his peripherals...
  23. Also Barnes ($3.1mill) and Hembree ($1.63mill) signed...
  24. Dombrowski made a few last year for the first time in his career. Not one of them panned out, but I don't fault him for that part. He did try...
