  1. Oh please. We’ve seen this show before. New GM drafts carefully and signs top young prospects and makes shrewd deals to horde more elite young talent. Henry gets frustrated by team performance at MLB level and fires New GM, and then brings in trusty veteran GM who guts everything for a quickie title and departs, leaving a wake of bad contracts amidst a dumpster fire of a farm system. Lather. Rinse. Repeat...
  2. I agree. I was surprised how many people think he should retire so as to help the Sox payroll. Hey, they promised it him. He has every right to sit back and collect...
  3. Sox claimed former Giant Andrew Triggs. Triggs looked promising 4-5 years ago, but he’s been injured a lot. He’s had thoracic outlet syndrome, which is the same injury that all but ended the career of Tyler Thornburg...
  4. There is also a chance within probability that I will get a four card draw to a straight flush while holding a winning Mega Millions ticket. But it might be a tad unlikely...
  5. Big deal. The season ended three weeks ago...
  6. Would you deal Verdugo for Clevinger and RHP Triston McKenzie or Verdugo for Clevinger and RHRP Emmanuel Clase?
  7. I'd be all over it, but I doubt Cleveland would be...
  8. With all the problems this team has, you seem awfully dedicated to denouncing a utility infielder...
  9. The competition is numerous, but not fierce..
  10. Lin is a role player. He can be a utility infielder on a good team, but unfortunately the Sox have an overabundance of utility infielder types...
  11. Well, if the Sox think Bogaerts will opt put after 2022, it's not such a long deal. And if they want to deal him, best to do it before the NTC kicks in...
  12. Onm sone levels, I respect you, oldtimer. You seem like you have yet to wave a white flag on this season...
  13. Actually per baseballtradevalues.com, Cleveland should be the one adding a sweetener. Probably since Clevinger only has two years of control left while Verdugo has 5...
  14. There is no way to get rid of Pedroia....
  15. 1. I doubt they deal Clevinger, but if there is one team that could move a pitcher like him and immediately backfill his spot in the rotation, it is Cleveland. 2. It is easier to get outfielders than aces. Springer, for example, is a free agent this off-season. 3. Why wait? Sox have rebuilt quickly before. Look at how they did after last place finishes in 2012 and 2015. 4. Isn’t that exactly what a Clevinger trade is?
  16. That only creates one vacancy, and on a team that doesn’t spend.
  17. Not his fault. 29 other teams would have cut him.,,
  18. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but there is a chance that this team might suck...
  19. I'm not going to pick up on that. I end almost all my posts with an ellipsis. See...
  20. Oh please, Yankee fans have thought they have seen the last of Gardner since 2015. They'll keep bringing him back. The man is going to die wearing pinstripes.
  21. That's because the flyballs hit off Sox pitchers don't stay in the ballpark often enough...
  22. If you told that to Ripley, he'd say "I don't believe it."
  23. I think they can get over 100 in 10 games tonight...
