I wouldn't call it a good chance. Most PTBNL's fall far short of the Ortiz/Crisp/Brantley list. BASed on absolutely nothing, I am going to speculate the Mets' PTBNL will be 2020 2nd rounder JT Ginn (RHP). The reason he is a PTBNL is that he has yet to actually pitch minor league ball. But he will fare well enough in A ball to be sent to Boston in that deal. Not sure who else is on the list, but I would be surprised if the Sox did not ask for Ginn or someone similar. The PTBNL's from the Royals are probably much lesser players. And the one from the Phillies might wind up just being cash...

Actually I like a lot of the acquisitions. I'd just like to see Bloom spend a few extra bucks on someone like Odorizzi to make this team even better. And on a LHH outfielder, preferably Bradley. The bullpen is light years ahead of last year's. The rotation is better. The 40 man roster saw about 12 names, all of whom were AAAA payers at best, removed and, in most cases, discarded. And only one AAAA player was added back on, and that was yesterday...

HAve they? His UZR/150 was about league average in 2019, but has been above in the 2-8 range since 2015. His DRS ran negative a couple years but bounced back last year in a big way. Now did that happen because he is losing a step or did it bounce back because he now has to (and clearly can?) cover more of right center since Betts was not out there for the first time in a while?

Maybe he will be one of those guys DFA'd every week by a new team. Good enough to not get through waivers but not good enough to be added to anyone's 40 man roster...

Bradley may not be elite any more, but he is elite compared to the scrap heap of free agent outfielders left that remain. Unless you like some Yasiel Puig...

He did bring Bradley back last year at a pretty good saalry despite trying to pare a lot of money off the payroll. The same thing could happen this year and Bradley appears to be running out of options. If/once Houston bails, I expect Bradley back in Boston...

The only salary they might be able to move is Vazquez. But then that creates another hole (and it might not actually be enough). And Ronaldo Hernandez, while a good pickup for waiver wire fodder, is NOT making the jump from A ball to MLB this year.

Yes. Pawecki is already off the roster, but Sale is still on it. They also already added Perez and Hernandez. So add Gonzalez when the place Sale on the IL. However, the still have Marcus Walden, Marcus Wilson and Austin Brice. I would have no issues with signing 3 people to replace these guys. Especially since I still think the Sox need a LHH outfielder, and another arm or two would not hurt...

Hernandez is also on the 40 man roster, which means the Sox still have to DFA someone so they can add Marwin Gonzalez (assuming they add Perez when they put Sale on the 60 day IL). I think TB's logic was that one or both would not last until their waiver claim. They are unlikely to miss Sogard, but I am surprised they added in Hernandez. Especially since they could still find free agent pitchers to sign to MiLB deals to increase their depth...

No kidding. Teams typically have to cover about 1450 innings over the course a season. On most teams, starters get maybe 800-900 innings, leaving 550-650 for the bullpen. If the Rays or any team with a good bullpen reduced the starter workload to, say, 700 innings, they are expecting the bullpen to pick up A LOT of slack...
