At age 23, Devers had a .793 OPS in MLB, but apparently that was not a good year. At age 23, Aaron Judge posted a .777 OPS in AAA and AA, but he has "mashed every year." Got it...

MLBTR has a post up abouyt the Sox using a 3 man bench (which Soxprospects has had up for a while now). But they also mention Chavis as a versatile piece.. Seems to me, Chavis is the 4th option on the bench if he is on the team, barring injury. I would assume Plawecki, Arroyo and Marwin Gonzalez are all higher on the depth chart than Chavis...

And maybe then they can bring in Correa or Story to play SS, move Bogaerts to 3B, move Devers to 1B, and move Dalbec to LF/DH...

Bogaerts is the SS. Devers is the 3B. The rest of the infield is in flux...

Yeah I am not sure what all this "moving him to 3B" is. Who are the Sox making room for? The only other shortstops on the 40 man roster are Arroyo, Arauz, and maybe Jeter Downs. How many people is this team moving to 3b? Are they going to keep Devers there while still moving Bogaerts and Dalbec to third? I think this plan might be slightly flawed....

That was in 2014. 7 years ago. The last time Jordan Montgomery threw more than 45 innings he missed the next two seasons, but that doesn't stop the boasts about the Yankee pitching staff, which as fan as I can tell is Gerrit Cole and 4 guys who averaged 11 IP last year. And Montgomery's issues are way more recent than anything about Bogaerts, who is also the rare Boras' client who signed an extension just one year prior to free agency. Exactly. The guy has 416 PA spread out over 4 seasons. His K rate in the minors was a hair over 20%. Granted, lesser pitching, but it also shows he can put the ball in play with greater frequency....

Until we know what? How is Cordero ever going to learn to hit LHP if he “never” get to start? His career right now consists of 72 plate vs LHP spread out over 4 seasons. That’s meaningless data...

Position by position comparisons are common, but really are useless unless you’re comparing defense. Just because two players play the same position doesn’t mean they fill the same role in the offense. For example, Verdugo over Grichuk. Yes Verdugo is better, but this really tells us our likely leadoff hitter is better than the Jays’ probable 8th spot hitter...

Obviously only Cora’s opinion matters, but I like Verdugo Bogaerts Devers Martinez Renfroe Dalbec Cordero Hernandez Vazquez And Arroyo on the bench where he belongs.

I think Cordero should be the CF. Soxprospects has him in LF with Verdugo in CF and Renfroe in RF. Renfroe certainly has the arm for RF, but I don’t think he can cover it in Fenway...

As much as I’d like Bradley back, my fear is the Sox already think they have a LHH outfielder to compliment Renfroe in LF with Marwin Gonzalez...

So far, Hernandez appears to be slated for 2b. While I still think the Sox need an OF, they’re probably better off starting both Renfroe (LF) and Cordero (CF) over Arroyo or Chavis. Are people really that sold on Arroyo? He wasn’t really that good last year, and he’s been a disappointment around the league for a while now...

I do think Verdugo-Bogaerts-Devers is the best top of the lineup....
