  1. Of course, the only opinion that matters on that subject is Cora's...
  2. Yeah, it's sad that the closest match is Gary Red(u)s.
  3. Well, currently they could add Robbie Ray or Corey Ray at some point. But Colten Brewer could be available sooner than either of them...
  4. I don't even remember anyone saying we should sign Richards, but I do remember people not being excited about his addition, including myself for durability reasons...
  5. Not the same. In fact if Brewer went to Milwaukee, he would be the first player in MLB history whose last name matched his team moniker aka the the first player ever with his last name on both front and back of his jersey. Unless Robbie Ray gets dealt to Tampa first. The closest to date would be when Gary Redus played in Cincinnati, as he had just one extra letter...
  6. Because 3 year / $28mill contracts are not conducive to resetting?
  7. The Sox need to trade Brewer to Milwaukee. In their entire history, Milwaukee has never had a player named “Brewer”. That needs to change...
  8. Are you trying to drop subtle hints that both of these teams need to recruit Air Bud?
  9. Exactly. Maybe the powerful NL West is really just beating up on the weaker AL West. It would explain the upstart Giants a bit better...
  10. Maybe the NL East teams are floundering because they have a tougher schedule due to playing the AL East. In games against everyone else but the AL East, the floundering NL East is 110-77...
  11. Also with Duran, if the Sox called him up today, he’d be eligible for Super Two status (meaning 4 years of arbitration instead of 3). The Rays dealt their starting shortstop last week and didn’t call up their consensus top prospect to replace him for this very reason...
  12. 1. I’d be hesitant to call bringing up kids from AA Dombrowski’s “thing.” In 4 seasons with the Sox, he called up two starting position players (Devers and Benintendi) and didn’t call up either one in June. Benintendi debuted in August, and Devers in late July. He also didn’t call up any starter with more starts than Brian Johnson. 2. If the problem is Dalbec is failing to make an immediate impact, will people be equally patient with Duran? What happens when he struggles? And he will at some point....
  13. To be fair to Moncada, the .513 OPS (which was in Boston) was only in 20 PA. The .915 OPS was in his second season as a starter. The following .705 was in a shortened season in which he claims he never really got over a bout with COVID. And this year, he is back up to .861, and has only 5 fewer PA than in 2020...
  14. Safer move is to take a pitcher. Trading young pitching for a catcher is not that difficult. Heck the Sox got Ronaldo Hernandez for two aging minor league journeyme...
  15. At least Odorizzi isn’t potentially facing up to 20 years in prison. On the Injured List? Yeah, probably. But not in prison...
  16. Mookie’s play was never going to be the question, at least not for a few more years. For Boston, it was a question of whether or not they would be able to put a good enough team around him for the next several seasons...
  17. Your Jets probably also screwed something up, as that is what the Jets do...
  18. Someone will be injured by then...
  19. To be fair, in Cherington’s 4+ years as GM, he had to deal with one reset and for a while was not allowed to give long contracts to pitchers over 30. Dombrowski benefited from having that lifted so he could sign Price...
  20. It might be time to embrace Alex Verdugo, who, as many have noticed is pretty damn good. Also - Fun Fact - “Verdugo” is Spanish for “Executioner”. At least it is according to my Translate App...
  21. Soooo.... he’ll fit right in in this staff?
  22. I’m just trying to picture the new pre-programmed heckles for umpires from robofans. “Kil the umpire” and “Hey ump, you need glasses!!” Would be replaced with “Obsolete the umpire and his unsupported software!!” and “Hey, Samsung Ump-O-Tron 3.0 you need to upgrade your optical sensors to the latest version that’s compatible with reality!!”
  23. Yeah, bullpen is far more likely than outfield...
  24. Starling Marte Kole Calhoun Corey Dickerson Nick Castellanos ... are all likely to be available this July, along with a few others as more teams fall out of contention. Michael Conforto? Kyle Schwarber?
  25. The AAA Tigers do have a lot of talented young pitchers. They do have a notorious weakness on offense...
