  1. Only a 1.5 game difference right now, but even if the Sox have a tough week, Tampa and Toronto play each other this weekend, so one of them will get a loss in each game...
  2. They lost 8-0. ERod could have given up 1ER over 8 innings and they still would have lost...
  3. Everything Eovaldi has done in his career came after a stint on the DL/IL...
  4. But he wrote most of the CCR songs, and when he became a solo artist, was unsuccessfully sued by his former record label for - get this - sounding too much like John Fogerty. True story...
  5. Zambrano relived for the Cubs for a while. All 3 did return to starting roles. Even Smoltz, who was a starter for the last 5 seasons of his career, including briefly in Boston...
  6. John Smoltz. Carlos Zambrano. Chris Sale was also very briefly moved into the closer role in 2012 due to elbow tightness. He had one appearance as a closer, blew the save, and was promptly returned to the rotation...
  7. And "occur" is a dog in Southern California?
  8. Why not "with a scoundrel"?
  9. I doubt they add one not named Duran...
  10. And now you ruined it...
  11. And Stanton hit's the IL. If you had the 5/19 in the pool, congratulations...
  12. Sure he has, back when he was born on the bayou...
  13. Any minor league pitcher is risky. But they are also a major need for this organization and harder to acquire via trade...
  14. It's very likely. It was a tough call because despite his good 2019, it was also really just a small sample so we had no idea if it was the true Taylor or not....
  15. So Kike’s gonna be down on the corner?
  16. So... Brandon Workman?
  17. And what were their numbers in March?
  18. So the consensus is 26yo Cordero has an OPS+ of 82 in 406 PA with a 35.5% K rate and needs work but the 25yo Chavis, who has an OPS+of 89 in 567 PA with a 33.3% K rate just needs a bigger chance?
  19. Career-wise there isn’t much difference between Cordero and Chavis. The biggest difference is Cordero is an outfielder, and that’s a bigger need on this team right now. But in time, I think both will be demoted...
  20. Taylor is becoming a bright spot in the bullpen.
  21. They already sent Arauz down. I do think Cordero gets demoted and while doing so when Arroyo comes off is possible, more likely they demote Chavis then and wait for Santana to demote Cordero...
  22. So the cutoff is 90 PA for weaker defensive players? With fans, this often comes down to whether or not the struggling player is blocking a prospect they want to see. Potential is such a tempting seductress. Not defense. In 2007 the defensively superior Coco Crisp was not crushing it at the plate, giving fans an excuse to scream and yell for Jacoby Ellsbury to be promoted. They weren’t so concerned with Crisp’s glove, which was closer to Bradley’s than any other Sox CF in the past 40 years...
  23. While you’re being vague, it looks like you’re supporting Bradley deserving over 500 PA to prove himself because he was good in college and the minors while Cordero and his .737 OPS in the majors gets 90 PA...
  24. So therefore Cordero doesn’t deserve a reasonable chance?
  25. And Bradley received and deserved all those accolades. But he only got them because the Sox didn’t give up on him as quickly as many fans did. And one could argue that the Sox were in the process of doing so, as it was during Bradleystruggles that they signed Rusney Castillo and moved Betts to CF...
