  1. Actually, he really isn't very good at them.
  2. I guess moon forgot to make his post in the sarcasm font.
  3. So what? Discussion actually involves accepting that others can have opinions and beliefs different from yours and possibly agreeing to disagree; it's something sadly missing in many aspects of life today.
  4. Those numbers are not acceptable, but despite missing 40 or so games, he's STILL second on the team in home runs and tied for 2nd in RBIs; Verdugo tied him today and both are only 5 behind Devers. The ineptitude of the offense can be pointed at a lot of players, but most especially at the guys who have hit 3rd and 4th most of the season, played a lot more games and are still behind him in both categories by a fair margin.
  5. Bogaerts has hit into his DP; JD’s turn now.
  6. I think his back is still bothering him and has been most of the season. I think Bogaerts has some nagging little thing as well. Their swings just don't look the same as in the past. Devers is obviously taking it easy on his hamstring, as his average and hard contact has plummeted since his return. Problem is the Sox need all three and really don't have viable options for even one of them, let alone all of them. JD is probably the easiest to replace.
  7. Got to say, Brubaker was fantastic tonight.
  8. Now there’s a phrase I haven’t heard in decades.
  9. Just shows it matters when you play a team. Even the worst teams get hot for a week or so a few times a year. If you’re playing them one of those weeks, you’re in trouble.
  10. Well, the way he’s been scuffling, this is the kind of game you use him in.
  11. Thought you weren’t watching anymore tonight?
  12. They aren’t touching Brubaker. Winckowski can eat some innings and save the pen.
  13. Reynolds is a pretty good hitter. He’s going to be a good player for a long time.
  14. Winckowski’s had far more affect on the Pirate’s O than anything Eck said.
  15. The guy pitching tonight is not a 2-10, 4.50 ERA guy. He’s had a 3 or 4 games similar to this this season, but this guy doesn’t show up very often. He has tonight.
  16. There isn't one thing in that post that bashes anyone. He made a statement. We get it, you don't like moon. Fine. This incessant need of yours to respond adversely to anything he posts is tiresome. Again, you have good things to add to this board, but this crap adds nothing.
  17. Believe it or not, by allowing only 2 runs that inning, DHern’s ERA over his last 4 appearances went down.
  18. Darwinzon Hernandez in his last 3 appearances: 3 1/3 IP 11 H 14 R 13 ER 7 BB 3 K 5.40 WHIP 35.10 ERA
  19. Just remember, the Red Sox always do well the first 18 years of a century.
  20. Royals haven’t exactly ripped the ball this inning. The sac fly was the only thing close to a hard hit ball. Edit - the double was decently hit.
  21. That would require 2 moves, since Valdez is no longer on the 40 man. I don’t get why Hernandez was even brought up; it’s not like he was pitching lights out or even that well in Worcester. Okay, he replaced Ort, so I sort of get it. But to me, he should be the long guy who comes in in the 3rd or 4th inning and the team well behind. If he holds the other team down snd gives the Sox a small chance, fine. If he doesn’t, he saves more accomplished arms. This situation cried out for Whitlock. Maybe Schreiber. Perhaps even Brasier, who at least is 50-50 on holding the other team.
  22. An awful lot of Yankee stench associated with DD.
  23. Nah, just attempting a little (probably very little) levity. Plus, you have to admit, he's a pretty good hitting pitcher.
