  1. Righty bat for one thing. They’re already lefty heavy.
  2. Possibly they need swelling to go down to see what the actual injury is. Maybe an MRI is required. Might want multiple opinions. This is where Jackson should weigh in.
  3. Have to remember the philosophy of some here. Must win every inning.
  4. Radio guys ripping on the defense this inning. They have criticized Casas for his decision, Raffy for not cutting the ball off and Wong for not even bothering to go get the throw. Also are still questioning removing Kluber.
  5. It’s not only who you’re playing but when you play them. Even bad teams have a couple weeks a year where everything goes their way.
  6. Bad luck for Schreiber aside, why take out Kluber? 3 hits, a walk and 1 run (a Pesky Pole shot to boot) through 5 on only 67 pitches. Makes no sense.
  7. Gee, they’re falling off of .368? What a shock. You do know Ted Williams hit .340ish for his career, right? And that none of the fearsome foursome is ever going to confused with Teddy Ballgame?
  8. Why the heck wasn’t Tapia going at some point. Sox don’t have a lot of speed, but he’s one of the few who does.
  9. The batter could ask for it. Now they get one per AB.
  10. Pretty sure it’s a safety thing; I get it.
  11. Ort did fine for one inning, too.
  12. Too early to make that call; early returns are not promising but not enough key precincts are reporting.
  13. Hey, at least he didn’t appear afraid to throw strikes.
  14. The one who generally shows up in game threads when the Sox are losing. His insight on medical issues is useful and interesting; his game thread contributions are not.
  15. I’d send Brasier out there again next inning.
  16. Hey, honey, look what the cat dragged in.
  17. Leave him out there and let him take the pounding.
  18. Damn shift ban. Probably a two run single last year.
  19. Homer doesn’t bother me, especially a solo shot. The two walks do bother me.
  20. I had an MLB.TV sub, but did not and will not be renewing it. Where I live in Illinois (the Iowa border), blackout rules apply for Cubs, White Sox, Cardinals, Brewers, Twins and Royals games. That’s 24-26 games plus any ESPN/Fox/Apple games on top of that. I just can’t condone the blackout rules. Cubs snd White a Sox I get. Cardinal and Brewer team broadcasts haven’t been shown in this area in 30 years, the Twins and Royals have never been shown here. I’ve been able to gets around it via a VPN but late last year they seemed to have blocked that avenue as well. So I’ll just listen to Castiglione et al on satellite radio.
  21. I tend to think he is still technically serving his 5 year commitment. The Navy probably took him off active duty and placed him in reserve status, so he is still subject to being recalled to active duty in the next couple years (unlikely, but possible). They did something similar with David Robinson 30+ years ago. Edit - saw Bellhorn posted and then deleted something about selected reserve. That means he is required to report for duty once a month and two other weeks per year. It is considered active duty status but not full time, which might explain the 10 year obligation.
  22. There’s an old Star Trek episode (the original series) where at a diplomatic conference, Spock’s father (an ambassador) says to one cantankerous delegate “Tellarites do not argue for reasons, they just argue.” Sort of reminds me of much of this thread.
  23. Wonder if they could do what the Twins did with Correa and give Swanson a big 1 year deal; He'd likely be the big name SS next offseason instead of #5 or 6 like this year. Just a thought.
  24. Worse than Haywood Sullivan? A guy with your moniker surely must remember the immortal Haywood Sullivan.
  25. Reports are no opt outs and a no-trade clause. There is no way I give any player an 11 year deal at age 30.
