  1. I guess his contract allows him to veto trades to 10 teams. If the Dodgers were on that list, you can assume the Red Sox were also on it
  2. 2020 - 1.80 in 2 starts 2021 - 4.56 in 30 starts 2022 - 4.56 in 33 starts 2023 - 5.89 in 9 starts
  3. Reyes has a decent enough bat for a utility guy. When Story comes back, is it Pablo or Arroyo who goes? Chang is useless at the plate (twice as many Ks as hits in nearly 100 PAs), but has the best IF glove on the team. Last nights Jacques use was due to using 7 guys on Sunday. The pen has been getting better, but they are getting worn out from 2 BP games a week plus the normal load the other games.
  4. Sox with 10 LOB, Seattle had 2
  5. Have to admit, after the first inning, the M’s flashed some really good leather.
  6. Turner did not look good tonight. Seemed late on everything.
  7. Sox offense has had a lot more to do with this. They hit a little and it’s a different bullpen game.
  8. Jacques and the Sox offense may well have made Bloom’s decision for him.
  9. Bereavement leave was in late June. He’s really struggled since then though, so it is a theory.
  10. True, but he’s come out of it somewhat the last few games. That DP ball he hit last time up was smoked and took a bad hop to boot. M’s 2B made a hell of a play. Some signs of life after a putrid 4 weeks.
  11. Be interesting to see who goes to 1B in the bottom of the 8th. Arroyo?
  12. Yeah, I know. You can always hope a guy can learn some control. You can’t teach heat (which is what I assume he has).
  13. I’m assuming it’s the 36 Ks in 30 innings. Could have been too amped up facing his old team as well.
  14. I agree. Remember when they used to make 2 trips out there each year? Sox would be lucky to go 6-12 on those. 8-10 or 9-9 was cause for celebration.
  15. Yes. He was in Boston from 80-82. Chuck Thompson moved to Oriole’s TV for the 1983 season and Miller was hired for the radio booth. He was there until sometime in the late 90s when he moved on to San Francisco.
  16. God, I had forgotten how good Miller is.
  17. Radio’s going to do some fun things in the 4th and 5th. In the 4th, Wil Flemming is going to go over to the Giants booth to do an inning with his brother Dave. The two will move to the Boston booth for the 5th. Meanwhile, the legendary Jon Miller will join Lou Merloni. Some of us old timers can remember when Jon was in the Sox booth for a few years seasons more years ago then I want to think about.
  18. Pivetta likely in next inning.
  19. Okay, Schreiber got out okay. Not exactly the DP he had in mind but …
  20. Don’t like the Schreiber move here; need Houdini Paxton.
  21. 3 with the Scherzer trade yesterday Have to wonder if they are worried about Eovaldi.
  22. Blue Jays get Hicks from the Cardinals.
