Yep, but it could have been a cumulative thing as well. Between 1999 and 2004, he made at least 65 appearances every year and was over 70 four times. Obviously with the post season, he was over 80 in 2004. That’s a lot of games and innings.
I don’t think so. He barely meets the minimum criteria of playing for the Sox for 3 years (he played 3 seasons in Boston). He was awesome in 2004 but 2005 and 2006 were decidedly mediocre (to be charitable). I think HoF players need to be good for several years, not just one.
I times one last night, it was 15-20 seconds to get to the mound, a 20 second conference (with the ump there for 10 of those) and then 20 seconds more to get back to the dugout. So basically a full minute.
To me, it depends on how it happens. Belt high fastball down the middle? Sure. Guy dunks one the opposite way on a pitch 4 inches off the outside corner? No, that’s not disgusting.
It’s the rule; you have to know.
The one that surprises me is that they can’t switch positions without a substitution. Who cares as long as everyone is in a legal position.
