  1. Yeah, I know. Just curious how that would be considered in, say, Baseball Reference. They do splits on everything, including by position. But the second time up, Swihart didn't have a position yet since he hadn't taken the field. I suppose if I remember, I could look tomorrow at Swiahrts splits and see what they list.
  2. I still think he's going to miss a couple starts. That's going to swell up, and there's no sense pushing it.
  3. Swihart had 2 hits in the 7th. Anyone know if that goes down as a pair of pinch hits or is it limited to the first one?
  4. No it's not. Brasier hasn't pitched since Saturday and that was his only appearance since last Wednesday. Needs the work.
  5. I've never seen it. I was betting on a sac fly, which would have meant that with 2 outs, the Sox would have had a 1.000 batting average that inning.
  6. I agree with moon. Swihart's ability to play other positions is invaluable in these days a 12 and 13 man pitching staffs. Now, one could be included as part of a larger deal, but otherwise, I think all 3 will be im Boston.
  7. That was dumb. Making Swihart hit from his weaker side (both this year and careerwise) was not.
  8. He's hitting like .140 from the right side, around .250 from the left. It was the correct move, especially with JBJ on deck. It didn't work, but it was the right move.
  9. I don't get the love here for Velazquez. He's been giving up baserunners all year; it's now starting to catch up with him.
  10. You can take the man away from the Yankees but you can't take the Yankee out of the player. He was there waaaay too long to not have a lot of Yankee stench.
  11. What kind of velocity does this pitcher have? He doesn't look overpowering and they should be able to move up in the box a little and get a better shot at that change up.
  12. That's what I thought. Marlin player needs to sell that better though.
  13. Let's just hope he's really back; going to take a while for him to build up arm strength and he wasn't known for going deep in games before.
  14. I'm guessing he'll miss a couple starts; that's going to swell up. Won't be a DL stint with the rosters expanding Saturday.
  15. How? Please elaborate.
  16. Right. A chopper and a bloop have "stinker" written all over it.
  17. Contradiction in terms there. If the Marlin hitters hit those balls harder, they are outs and the whole inning doesn't happen.
  18. I'd rather they get this funk out the way now. It was going to happen sooner or later; sooner is better.
  19. Had em all the way.
  20. Well, there's not much Cora can do when 3 straight relievers can't get the job done.
  21. Yeah, he didn't torture you, just gave up the long ball quickly.
  22. You almost wonder if Mattingly was saying, kid, learn to get yourself out of thses messes instead of looking to somebody else to do it. It's a luxury he can afford with a last place club. Okay, it's probably not that way, but if it is, I find it refreshing.
  23. In Durham, the bulll is breathing a sigh of relief.
  24. This ump has not had a good night.
  25. You could see that coming. Guys been all over the place and gets 2 strikes on perfect unhittable pitches.
