  1. He did outlast Sale. Sale faced 19 batters, Kershaw faced 20.
  2. Kershaw does have an impressive curve ball; that thing can be nasty.
  3. He’s been pretty consistent for both pitchers. Strike zone is tight but it’s going both ways.
  4. Poor base running by Beni there
  5. Kershaw starting to dial it in.
  6. At most and that’s if he really cuts down the pitch count. He’s at what, 75 through 3?
  7. He really only pitched 3 months this year. Only 17 innings after the ASB plus now 14 in October.
  8. Back in the day it would have been. Now you want ground balls to the “normal” shortstop position.
  9. Not controlling nor commanding the fastball.
  10. Slide in feet first and ass hat won’t block the base anymore.
  11. The Red Sox always do well the first 18 years of a century.
  12. I would assume that. Beni is coming full bore in, JBJ isn't going ot get there to back him up all that quickly and Kemp, a very fast guy, was on first.
  13. #4 does for me. My guess is that they will each sit 1 of the 3 potential road games, with who depending on the pitching match-ups. Obviously, either Beni or JBJ would sit against Kershaw.
  14. I hate the idea of Betts at 2nd. 4 reasons: 1) The Altuve interference play in Game 4 2) The Kemp play in Game 4 (I acknowledge that at that point of the game Betts would probably go to RF to replace JDM anyway). 3) The catch on Bregman in Game 5 JDM comes no where near to making ANY of those plays. And the biggest reason I don't want Mookie at 2nd: 4) The Machado factor if it's the Dodgers. He's already ended/significantly affected one Sox second sackers career; I do not want him adverseky affecting a guy who's on a path to being one of the best Sox ever.
  15. Stanley pitched 8+ innings in relief in a game twice; he went more than 7 two more times and 6+ at least one other time. As you said, the bullpen was used a lot differently back then.
  16. So was Lackey v Verlander in 2013. Final was 1-0 Sox. You never know.
  17. Barnes also pitched in Game 3. That may have factored in, especially given his lack of pitching in September.
  18. Are we really going to have to rely on Hembree to close this?
  19. Well that’s one way to get an out.
  20. Not sure who else you go with.
  21. Betts has to be going here
  22. The old Yankee-Red Sox game times have nothing on this series.
  23. Unfortunately Correa seems to have awakened.
  24. Plus of that inning is Brasier should be able to at least start the 7th. Add on runs will be huge. Will we see Presley this inning or does Hinch hold him for a possible save?
  25. Kemp can scoot too; he’ll be going soon
