  1. Doubt it, especially since the 1st homer was on the 7th pitch of the AB and the walk on the 8th.
  2. Well if he can’t that means Hembree comes in with guys on. That’s not a comfortable place to be for the home team.
  3. Probably because he was at about 95 pitches and has had one start since he came off a month on the IL. IIRC, Price also seems to face trouble when he gets up around 100.
  4. He played a big role in the Sox losing the series but not because of the error. He hit .188 in the series and drove in 1 run. Worse, he ended something like 17 innings, many with multiple men on base.
  5. Not sure I’ve ever seen a homer like that.
  6. And after all the wailing and gnashing of teeth, Porcello does what Porcello does. 6 innings (maybe 1 more), 3 runs.
  7. Tito rolled the dice. Rodriguez made some good pitches to get out of the 4th, but Devers/JDM/Bogies are not Leon and Benintendi.
  8. They cost him in the first, they saved him in the 5th.
  9. Agree but in a way, I hope he stays with and plays a HOF career entirely with the Guardians.
  10. I guess you’re right; I do recall at least once against Houston(?) as well. I don’t get every game.
  11. I had no problem with it. If he gets caught, Betts leads off with a clean count. They got an even better outcome.
  12. Should have been out of the 1st with no runs scored and this inning’s run was a ground ball single, a stolen base, a bunt and an infield chopper. He’s not as sharp as he can be but other than Lindor (who can hit anybody), no one has hit the ball hard on him. He’s pitched better than the results today.
  13. One pitch in the middle in 2 innings snd Chavis hit a bullet. The rest have been on the edges.
  14. Would Pedroia even want to coach? His kids are around 10, 7 and 5. Perhaps he’d like to see them in their own pursuits.
  15. If the Yankees announced today that Ellsbury was retiring but would be come a base running coach/consultant for $35 million (about what they still owe him) for, oh, the next 10 years, everyone here would be screaming bloody murder. The Red Sox and Pedroia signed a contract and each has to live up to the terms of the contract. The Sox have to pay him, and Pedey has to try and do whatever it takes to be able to take the field, even if he physically can't. There is no way around it unless Pedroia voluntarily walks away.
  16. CB Buckner isn’t capable of fixing a game. He’s an equal opportunity incompetent.
  17. If you trade him you need to get someone who can play the OF. Bryce Brentz ain’t going to cut it.
  18. And who do you play in LF? Everyday.
  19. That describes the NBA to a tee.
  20. I would, since there’s nobody in the system right now who’s ready for regular OF duty.
