  1. Not saying that they shouldn’t have bunted, only what the results of a successful bunt would have been. Bogaerts may have driven in the run, but he had struck out in a similar situation a couple innings earlier, albeit against Jansen.
  2. He would never have been given the chance; they would gave put him on first. Devers may have been as well.
  3. Maybe to give Vazquez a complete day off instead the partials he’s been getting as a dh or 1B?
  4. Not a bad pitch; it got in on him but a good piece of hitting by Sogard.
  5. At the very least stay in a rundown long enough for Hernandez to get to second and replace him.
  6. Pen did pretty well tonight. Dodgers got to the 7th guy. They did virtually nothing against the other 6.
  7. Like I said, I’d rather see a kid in his spot in the pen. A kid might get better; Velazquez isn’t going to. Houdini acts don’t last forever.
  8. More than likely they walk both of them. So what does Bogaerts do? He struck out the previous time in with a chance to win it (albeit against Jansen). We know JDM grounded out weakly to end the inning.
  9. If Bradley’s on 3rd, Betts never gets the chance to swing. They are going to walk him and probably Devers as well.
  10. Hopefully this is the end of Hector Velazquez. I’d rather give the spot to a kid who might get better; Velazquez isn’t going to do that.
  11. So let’s see, Hernandez bunts Bradley to 3rd. They are going to walk Betts and Devers at that point. Does Bogaerts come through? JDM didn’t.
  12. Umm, he managed the pen to 6 scoreless innings until Neck Tat took the mound. There is a lot of blame to go around in this one. Bogie’s error cost 3 runs. Leaving the winning run on 2nd in 3 straight innings. Base running blunders. Cora’s bullpen management isn’t one of them.
  13. I’ve never liked him. He got away with Houdini acts for a while but that only works for so long.
  14. That’s going to be obstruction.
  15. Huge advantage for the Dodgers from here forward. Sox have Walden and Neck Tat left in the pen; not great choices and the bad guys have 3-4-5 coming up.
  16. Double dumb on JBJs part. First, he shouldn’t have gone. Then, once he does, he needs to get into a rundown to let Hernandez get to 2nd.
  17. I’ll say it again; the Dodgers are really good at fouling off tough pitches. You may get them eventually, but they are going to make you work to do it.
  18. Bellinger was also lucky he wasn’t called out on what was ball 2.
  19. More likely Holt will hit for him. If not, Nunez will be definitely be bunting. EDIT - forgot about Hernandez.
  20. I assume they did the stat cast calculations and took it from there.
  21. Because he was waiting for that change-up?
  22. Kids It’s from The Godfather, although Mario Puzo wrote the novel that inspired the movie.
  23. You need a horse to make it work.
