  1. This is no place for facts. Irrational rantings only.
  2. Fulmer’s throwing some nasty pitches. I see why he was the #8 overall pick a couple years ago.
  3. And who’s starting tomorrow’s game on the mound?
  4. An error, a broken bat single and a ground ball by one of the best young hitters in the game is not struggling. It’s baseball.
  5. Got to wonder if the wet grass affected that throw.
  6. 6 straight 1 run innings. That’s hard to do.
  7. I didn’t say if that was a good thing or a bad thing. He was much more tolerable when the Pale Hose were losing. And maybe he was slightly better on Red Sox games since he played here. But he definitely could be insufferable at times. OTOH his rant on Joe West re. Mark Buerle’s balks was classic.
  8. White Sox broadcasts just aren’t the same without Hawk Harrelson.
  9. Sharawyn should be able to and has gone multiple innings. He did so his first 4 outings with Boston, going 2 or more each time and giving up a total of 1 run. Plus he was a starter at Pawtucket. I have a lot more faith in him than I do Velazquez, who always seems to be doing a Houdini act.
  10. Wasn’t even that shaky. A wall scraper double preceded Moncada’s rope. An out in any other park.
  11. Slash, that is a reaction made with total 20-20 hindsight. Sharawyn set the Jays down in order in the 6th on 13 pitches, striking out 2. He got the first out in the 7th before giving up a hit and then a homer in the span of 4 pitches. The second homer came 5 pitches later. Going into this afternoon he had pitched 2 or more innings 4 times this year for Boston, giving up a grand total of 1 run in those appearances. Further, he was a starter at Pawtucket. There was no reason in the world to think he couldn’t go 2 innings. And unlike his successors, at least he made them hit the damn ball.
  12. As maddening as he can be, nobody they get for a #4 starter is going to be better than ERod. Who are you trading to get this dominant closer? There isn’t much in the farm system right now. Ditto a trade for Renfroe (and where does he play if you get him?).
  13. With regard to the bullpen, Cora may have to echo John McKay’s line about the Tampa Bay Bucs during one of their early winless seasons. McKay was asked about what he thought about his team’s execution and McKay said he was in favor of it.
  14. Given what has transpired since with 3 other guys, not sure it really would have made much of a difference. And at least he made them hit the ball, which is more than you can say about Barnes.
  15. Just preempting the inevitable WTF is Cora doing posts.
  16. There’s not much Cora can do if nobody can throw a strike
  17. Nope. A little less showing off the arm and a little more catcher fundamentals would be welcome.
  18. Vazquez’ sloppiness has cost a couple runs.
  19. He only looks at results. 3 balls that the outfielders bring back over the fence >>> 3 dribblers that travel 90 feet combined.
  20. Yeah those infield hits were roped.
  21. Roughly 14 weeks left in the season. 7 games out means they have to make up a game every 2 weeks. That doesn’t sound impossible. And there’s what, 13-14 left againt the Evil Empire? If they don’t beat them head to head they don’t deserve the division anyway.
