    On one hand, they’ve managed to run up McClanahan’s pitch count a little. On the other hand, with the Rays’ pen, that might not be a good thing.

    He’s been damn good for well over a month, as in the last run he gave up was in August. Doesn’t mean it will work tonight, but it’s not an off the wall move.

    Yankees shifted Torres just before that pitch. He was right up the middle the first couple pitches then moved him over about 15 feet towards first on that one. Plawecki hits that ball on the earlier ones it’s a base hit.

    I miss Australian Rules Football. I didn’t understand it very well, but it was great to watch.

    Ted Williams’ philosophy was look for a good pitch to hit and hit it; he was pretty successful with it. Verdugo got one but hit it hard in a bad spot.

    I’ve got the Sox radio broadcast synced up via Sirius XM and ESPN on silent; much more enjoyable. It’s a little behind, but it’s worth the delay.

    I thought that initially as well, but they were highlighting the win or go home games, which did occur in 1949, 1978, 2003 and 2004.

    Robles has pitched four straight high stress days; doubt he’s really available. Ditto Brasier.

    One thing of concern with using Pivetta to close this out; he often has first inning problems.

    Relax, it’s not do or die. Were you around for games 4 and 5 of the 2004 ALCS? Now those games were killers.
