  1. ...and Cannon (43) & Lugo (69) in '19 Cutter Coffey (41) in '22 (Meidroth at 129 might have been our best choice) Zanetello (50) & Anderson (89) in '23
  2. I have not given up on Rafaela's continued growth as a batter. The guy was as raw as raw could be when he begin professional baseball. His lack of improvement on K%-BB% over his farm years led many to believe he is what he is, but we've seen a marked jump in the right direction. He's still very bad in those areas, but not historically bad. Yes, he swings at too many bad pitches, but somehow he gets hits on enough of them to end up with decent numbers. The MLB OPS in 2025 was .719. His slow September put him just below that mark for the season (.709) He can have some god-awful stretches, so maybe he takes a step back, but I could see him nearing .750 in 2026. If Duran falls by as much as he did from '24 to '25 and Ceddanne improves, they may end up near each other.
  3. These are the types of things Chicken Littles don't know about.
  4. I doubt we get any kind of cap ceiling or floor. I think the owners can get the players to a yes, if they significantly raise the min wage and maybe further tweak the arb years. I'm thinking the majority of players are making min wage or in year 1 or 2 of arbs.
  5. ...and with all the SSs we drafted, why didn't we get one like Neto?
  6. True, even if we added Witherspoon or Valera. Do you think it takes a bigger offer for Neto or KMarte?
  7. The thing about our OF is that all 4 do worse vs LHPs, even our RHB Rafaela. Since Rafaela isn't a good hitter against L or R, maybe we sit him vs some RHPs, so Duran plays some more OF and Masa or Casas get some ABs at DH vs righties. It's a juggling act that was needless. We shoulda done something last winter, and did not learn the lesson, in 2025, either.
  8. Mayer & Harrison for Neto, maybe, but LAA probably says no.
  9. He started over Abreu vs LHPs and was well deserving of it for 3 years. He's a top 5 batter vs L...in MLB! no the team.
  10. If we move Masa, it won't be for anything but salary relief.
  11. He might be the one we keep all the way through.
  12. I'd have bitten the bullet and traded Mayer + Tolle for Marte. (I'd expect a prospect back, but I'd do the deal without one.) We are in a 3-5+ year window, right now. KMarte could start a steep decline at any moment. I fully understand the gamble, but Mayer & Tolle are gambles, too. Marte is a switch hitting power bat, who also gets on base enough and plays 2B pretty well. We could have still done the Durbin & Contreras deals, and even IKF would be okay, but we'd probably have to save some money to pay for KMarte. Maybe deal Sandoval with no IKF. Of course, trading Duran and his $7.7M AAV might have been done.
  13. It was used as a verb not as a nickname, but a certain poster who rhymes with Fred fits the name.
  14. If he stays healthy- bif if- he could hit .790 to .840, yes.
  15. No. I only said he could be "the key," if he does.
  16. I knew you'd like that one. I'd call projecting 4th place, because we added Contreras not Alonso is worse than "Chicken Little."
  17. Nobody I remember liked it here. It's his performance after he left I'm referring to. Had he done great, we'd still be hearing how we botched the early negotiations and how he would have taken $___ or $___.
  18. You do realize I was agreeing with the use of the word "suspect" for Mayer. You aren't "the only one:" I am one, too.
  19. Agreed, but these two additions don't account for the nearly 550 PAs lost from Devers and Refsnyder. Anthony could get 300 more PAs, and Abreu will start hitting vs LHPs, so there is still some doubts. I do think the Chicken Little cry-outs are a bit overboard, but not without a bit of merit.
  20. I thought KMarte was worth it, but apparently, AZ wanted someone other than the greatest offensive player in the universe.
  21. Anthony has a 9 year contract, if you count the 2034 club option season. I think he turns 30, his last control year. Seems perfect, to me. Mayer has not been extended for a reason, and if your term "suspect," which You’ve made this statement several times already, so good for you, was ever true, it is for Marcelo.
  22. Next, you'll tell us you were "right about Bogey."
  23. Yes, I get what you mean about the long deals. Add 1 WAR and it adds 7.
  24. They must not use 2025 FWAR or bWAR to project.
  25. I think BTV wonders how much WAR Rafaela will put up.
