  1. Well, Price did his part.
  2. I'm fine with posters who disagree, but nobody is saying what he is arguing against on Leon. I'm not suggesting he get banned. I'm not asking others to put him on ignore, but I did. I never called him any names, either.
  3. Shows how early this season still is, and how judging on tiny sample sizes is very risky.
  4. Probably a better word than "troll."
  5. He invents positions nobody holds then vehemently and continuously argues against that phantom position.
  6. Now, if we could just improve our IF defense...
  7. This guy is as bad as the last clown they booted off the site. I'm putting him on ignore.
  8. Porcello's career numbers with Leo and Vaz are not that different. Only Sale & Price (plus a few RP'ers) have a much better record with Leon.
  9. True, his OPS from 2017-2019 is just .705 with a .313 OBP. His 2013-2014 and 2017-2019 combined sample size is larger than his very nice stratch from 2015 to 2016, so I am can see how we can view the poor-hitting JBJ as the "real JBJ." That 2015-2016 stretch was pretty damn good, and the sample size was big enough to view as significant (891 PAs). His numbers those two years combined were .262/.345/.489/.834. Averaged over 162 games: .262 26 92 (42 2B+3B & 97 runs scored) That seems like so long ago. I admit, I got very hopeful after he had a very prolonged good stretch, last year, after a poor start. I thought maybe he had finally solved the consistency problem that has plagued his career. His poor start, this year, is still a very small sample size, but it's getting close to the point it was last year, when he went... .502 until May 19th (142 PAs) .793 the rest of the season (393 PAs)
  10. Mata was my choice for a 2019 breakout.
  11. What he said needed it.
  12. I contend he already is a decent hitter, despite the ice cold and often too long streaks. If you throw out his horrible start to his career (530 PAs and .548 OPS), his OPS since 2015 is .762. He's averaged 21 HRs and 38 2B+ 3B per 630 PAs since then. It would be nice to have an OBP higher than .327, but he's been above average at the plate from 2015-2019. MLB OPS from 2015-2019: .742. JBJ: .762. MLB CF OPS: .717.
  13. He had a pretty awesome start to 2018. Maybe if he just stays healthy all year, for once, we can see what this guy really has. We were 13-1 in his first 14 starts (3.59 ERA) and 17-3 after 20 starts (3.34 ERA). We were even 23 - 4 after 27 starts! (.373 ERA)
  14. Man, you guys are worse than us.
  15. He did have an .807 April back in 2016, so I'm not so sure it's always a slow start as much as it is always having a slow period during every year.
  16. Why did the Sox offer a s***** catcher an arb that amounted to $2.5M? I guess you think they are dumb. If he sucks, why did they even offer him a minor league assignment? I wouldn't have offered him $2.5M, if I thought he sucked, so who is smarter? The Sox FO or some of us?
  17. They are 11-4 with a catcher OPS below .425.
  18. Yes, I did. My eyesight sucks.
  19. Here's an interesting factoid. The Rays are on their way to an 11 and 3 record. Their catcher OPS was .417 before the game, and Zunio is currently 1 for 5 tonight.
  20. Thornburg made it interesting. Good to see Brasier and Barnes get us out of trouble.
  21. Happ got drilled. The Yanks are losing. Peddle to the metal, guys!
  22. He's certainly the best defensive Sox CF'er I have ever seen (1972>>>).
  23. Just caught up on DVR. Nice to see ERod go deeper than usual without hitting 95 pitches. Some nice key hits. Now, we need the pen to hold firm.
  24. Nobody has ever said all 5 starters need Leon. In fact, only two have much better records with Leon: Sale & Price.
