  1. Has Mookie said he prefers leading off?
  2. Not just him.
  3. I like Betts up 2nd.
  4. Greg Bird to IL.
  5. No, you are right, it sucks, but none of your injured players have been lost for the whole season (yet).
  6. I think teams are getting better at identifying the strategies other teams are using against them and adjusting accordingly. That's where having a guy like Leon who can "counter adjust" makes sense.
  7. I agree, but he has done things differently this year, particularly the spring training innings reduction.
  8. I guess I value the Yanks more than you and other Yankee fans do.
  9. So, pitcher-catcher match-ups is a much higher priority than some seem to want to believe.
  10. I'm glad we're playing some top contenders, now. What better time is there to turn things around?
  11. Makes you wonder: if Vaz is the better catcher, and Swihart the better 2Bman, then why flip 'em?
  12. Just give up. I'm surprised some defended the guy.
  13. He's certainly been part of the solution, instead of the hoped for comeback. It's early, yet, so let's not give up altogether. He's barely played for a long time. Hopefully, he just needs to shake off the cobwebs.
  14. I've always thought Devers would end up at 1B, but I was willing to give him every opportunity to improve enough at 3B to stay there. It looked like he was getting better as 2018 rolled on, but this is unacceptable. With Pearce & Moreland's contract up after this year, I'd look to try Devers & Chavis at 1B and maybe hope Dalbec can win the 3B job. Otherwise, we'll have to llok for a FA 3Bman next winter.
  15. He's at -2 DRS, now. Pedey is, too.
  16. LOL, you forgot the rose thorns!
  17. I expected a boost in 2B OPS this year, but so far, it has been horrendous. OPS by position: .395 2B .500 P .568 CF .606 3B .660 RF .688 C .713 DH .854 LF .894 SS .902 1B 1.083 PH
  18. The Rays will not play .750 ball all year, but they are a damn good team.
  19. Fine with me... Our catcher offense, so far: .214 BA .241 OBP .446 SLG .688 OPS CERA 5.79 Vaz (Mostly Price, Sale, ERod & Porcello) 5.80 Swihart (Mostly Eovaldi, Porcello & ERod) Tampa Bay Rays: Catcher Offense: .169 BA .222 OBP .288 SLG .510 OPS CERA 2.43 Zunio 2.45 Perez Small sample sizes, for sure, but it seems pretty clear (to me) that catcher offense is not the number one priority.
  20. I'm hoping sooner, as well, just to quite the naysayers and panicers.
  21. If inventing phantom positions and arguing against them ad nauseam if "bringing life" to this board, I choose death.
  22. This was probably the only way to keep all 3 catchers. I'm hopeful the learning curve with Swihart will not be long or everlasting. I'm glad our catchers are hitting well.
  23. Doesn't it suck how Bogey robbed our pen of a save situation?
