Personally. I'd have Kike in CF full time and let Arroyo ride it our at 2B as long as possible. I'd have JBJ in RF and Verdugo in LF. I might sit JBJ vs some lefties and have Duran play LF and Verdugo RF, in that scenario, despite the fact that JBJ and Duran both bat lefty. (We should have gotten a RH'd JBJ.) In my scenario, Arauz is the back-up for Arroyo, but we'd have to acquire a decent 2B/utility guy to be able to keep Kike in CF. My guess is we acquire a RH'd hitting CF/RF'er and a decent utility guy who can play a decent 2B and SS, but that was not part of this presentation.

Vazquez C Bench: (Arroyo or Duran), Plawecki and Arauz SP: Eovaldi, Sale, Hill, Pivetta, Wacha (Paxton on 60 day IL) SP/RP: Whitlock, Houck RP: Barnes, Brasier, Taylor, Davis, DHern, Sawamura, Valdez (I got 14 pitchers and 12 everyday players, but I'd prefer 13-13.)

Not anywhere near this, but that's not really the issue. He can and likely will make more, if he waits it out.

IMO... Sanchez is your catcher. Hicks is your CF'er. Simmons will be your SS. (Outside chance at Story or Correa)

I see the players making gains, but I doubt they get even what I suggested. Maybe not even close.

True. I did read somewhere that all the billionaires (like 2,150 of 'em) in the world own more wealth than 4.6 billion people. I think Elon Musk is worth over $200 billion. If my math is right, I think that comes to about $600 per American. That's pretty significant.

Not even close to the cost of living or inflation indexes. A big, one-time, increase, now, would essentially, just even things up.

I'm all on the player's side, but I think the lower tier players are the ones that need the biggest boost. I get the trickle down theory of the big contracts, but to me, raising the min wage, perhaps to more than $1M in 3-4 years is huge. Lessening the arb years and years to free agency is bigger for most players. Creating a floor on team spending would create more competition for the lower tier free agents and drive their salaries up quite a bit. I do see an advantage of raising the lux tax line above $240M, but I think the other areas I mentioned help more players.

It's not going much higher than $240M, IMO. I'm not sure it has to, if you significantly raise the min salary and start having a floor on lower team spending minimums that rises over the years.

Adding a 27th roster slot is a big gain. adding 2 teams would be more players, but the product is already watered down enough, IMO.

I've limited my concert-going as well, due to ticket prices. I haven't been to Fenway is 3 years. I do catch 2 games when they come to Houston, but I sit in the nosebleed section at like $22 a pop.
