I agree, and even if JH decides to spend way over the tax line, I'd still rather see all of it go towards pitching, RF, SS and a Devers extension.

I think the idea was per year, but still it is total revisionist warping reality, and when we call it out, they twist it into us being Bloom apologists "always" and for "all his mistakes."

That's my plan A. Plan B might be to trade for a RF'er. I am not for spending big at DH, even if JH opens his wallet more than I expect him to do.

I think it would have to be an either or on Brantley and Beni. We'd be back to 3 lefty left fielders and reluctantly moving Dugo to RF.

You crack me up. Bloom was not the GM in 2019. He took over the 2019 team with a mandate to make massive budget cuts. Then he watched Sale and ERod sit out 2020.

They spent big, early. They did not trade away top prospects, early. They spent big, later. They traded away top prospects, later.

It's just a hypothetical question. Had DD stayed on, he very well may have traded Casas and Bello for a player or two that helped us get more wins- your only gauge for success. Would it have been worth it? 2nd place. One round advancement. The future is now, so it matters little if the guy(s) he got in trade are still around for 2023, right?
