  1. We are 8-11. Maybe we are 9-10 with Story at 2B.
  2. Story has also slipped a little with the glove and range, but it's the arm that is the major issue. Not only does he make to many bad throws, the slow throws don't show up on FLDG% or Error counts. I actually like Story, and while the Ks are bothersome, he seems to get more than his fair share of RBIs, so I've lived with it. Ideally he bats 7th vs R and 6th v L, and plays 2B. Who plays 2B and 3B is a secondary issue.
  3. Nice post. I'm no expert on this stuff, but whatever it was, it was nasty as hell.
  4. TOR is still playing, but the ALE looks like this: 11-8 TBR 11-9 NYY -0.5 10-10 BAL -1.5 8-11 BOS -3.0 (2 GB last WC slot) 7-11 TOR -3.5
  5. Nobody expected the Sox to have such little power. LMAO!
  6. Could be, but Story is here in 2027, and he's still the best hitter of them all (not saying much.) I'm not sure they flip-flop Durbin and Mayer from 3B to 2B. Maybe... 2027: SS Arias 2B Story (Mayer) 3B Mayer/Durbin platoon 2028: SS: Arias 3B: Mayer or Durbin 2B: Durbin or Mayer
  7. I was overly hyped on Cespedes a couple years back, all but gave up on him and now this... How about Arias, who keeps seeing his OPS go up? He homered tonight!
  8. I suggested Contreras 2nd and Abreu 3rd a while ago, but never thought Cora would do it.
  9. Story sucks at SS, and he's been in decline on defense for a long enough time to believe the numbers. He's tied for last in OAA. He's 17th out of 23 in DRS. IMO, as long as Mayer is in the line-up (a separate issue) I'd play Mayer at SS and Story at 2B. If we replace Mayer with Cheng or Monasterio, I'd still keep Story at 2B. (Maybe not for Monasterio.)
  10. Five defensive runs saved is not all that great. (13th in MLB) Hey, here is an encouraging view... https://www.mlb.com/news/how-red-sox-can-improve-hitting-pitching-in-2026
  11. Richard Fitts out for the season.
  12. Hey, we no longer have the worst record in the AL. We are currently tied for the 3rd/4th worst w TOR. In terms of GB not winning %, we are tied with 4 teams for the the 10th best record in the AL. We are 2.5 GB the 4th best AL record. Whodathunk the Rays would be #1 and MIN #2? The A's are 4th and Rangers 5th!
  13. How does a manger "fix" batting or pitching? I do know how a manger makes out the line-up and positions of the players.
  14. Yes, half the equation is having someone to play 3B, which...gasp...might have meant the Sox needing to have some foresight in the off season.
  15. Cora mixing things up a bit... 1. Anthony DH 2. Contreras 1B 3. Abreu RF 4. Story SS 5. Duran LF 6. Rafaela CF 7. Mayer 2B 8. Durbin 3B 9. Wong C
  16. Despite calling Kike one of the "best defensive SSs in MLB." It seems some of his choices are based on disillusions.
  17. You need to ask why? We saw why-- Injuries happen. I did not say tell Devers he was next year's 1Bman. I said start with "Do some working out at 1B." In 2022, we figured Dalbec was the 1Bman, but were not 100% sure he was "the guy." That was the Franchy at 1B year. (We also added Hosmer later in the season.) In 2023, we had Casas and Turner, but maybe we don't sign Turner or use him at DH only. In 2024, Casas looked like the FT'er, but to borrow your phrase, he was still rather "suspect." Dom Smith ended up starting more than Casas, and that was after we cycled through Dalbec and Garrett Cooper, first. We all saw what happened in 2025- no refresher needed.
  18. I wonder if he ever talked to Devers about wanting to move, years ago. I doubt he even broached the subject.
