  1. Those that felt Bello should have been traded, seem to have been right on.
  2. Okay, well this is because we're missing Bregman & Devers.
  3. Azocar with 2 dingers for Salem. Game still going on.
  4. Eyanson with another fine start. 5IP 2H 0ER 0BB 5K Futrell finished off the game and showed he belongs in A+. 4IP 1H, 0ER 1BB 4K. Gonzales & Cespedes with 2 hits in the sutout 4-0 win.
  5. Holobetz impressive again. 7IP 1H 1ER 1BB 11K (1.13 ERA) POR lost 2-0. Taylor went 2-4
  6. That's encouraging. I think Durbin is a good player- all around, except for power. I really liked the trade and still do. I'd have preferred he was a platoon guy for Mayer or had IKF's role, but he has the potential to be a fine FT'er, too.
  7. The sample size are small, but I'm not sure how much longer we stick with Durbin.
  8. It's games like these, where the pitching match-up and line-up presented looks like our odds are long that we seem to do well. Maybe it's just a feeling that this happens more often than it does, but I'm thinking we win, today.
  9. Just go 100% robo calls. This guessing game should not be part of the game. It's silly at best and stupid at worst.
  10. I guess some could call it that.
  11. So far this year, yes. Last year, in a sample size nearly 4 times this one, his OBP was .388 2025-2026 OBP Leaders (350+ PAs) .384 Anthony .360 Bregman .325 Duran .324 Abreu .302 Rafaela I'd be okay demoting him down the line-up for a while.
  12. 2025-2026 Story is 3rd in throwing errors (14), so yes, that does affect his Flg%. (To be fair, he's tied for second in fielding errors with 9) 12 of the top 13 SS inning players had 3-7 throwing errors. All the top 13 SSs had 6-9 fielding errors, so the context shows Stories arm hurts his Fldg% and Fldg% ranking. A weak arm will not show up in Fldg%, correct, but it does show up in the advanced metrics. With the arm, glove and range combined, fangraphs has Story tied with Bogey as the 4th worst defensive SS in rPM at -7 (+/- runs saved above average.) Get him outta there! The SS position is too valuable to mess around with.
  13. Sox OPS by position .902 RF (Yes, Abreu can hit lefties) .899 1B (Alonso who?) _________________________ .700 CF (Rafaela seems pretty steady, now.) .673 LF (Duran & Anthony mostly) _________________________ .615 Catcher (Without Wong catcher would be near last) .576 DH (mostly Anthony & Masa) .531 2B (mostly Mayer) .440 3B (Durbin off to a really bad start.) ________________________ Our worst batting slot is 2nd at .461 Our 7-9 is .683, while our 1-2 is .521. Team OPS is .664, but... .757 RISP (seems impossible) .695 Men On Base & 2 outs RISP .584 Late & Close and .536 High Leverage (seems about what I expected)
  14. Uberstine (sore shoulder) and Valera (elbow inflamation) both placed on 7 day IL.
  15. Crawford to get an MRI on the forearm. I think we have to totally write of Kutter and Sandoval for 2026.
  16. Story to DH today. Duran & Mayer sit vs the tough lefty. Wong at catcher, again. 1. Anthony LF 2. Monasterio SS 3. Contreras 1B 4. Story DH 5. Abreu RF 6. Rafaela CF 7. Durbin 3B 8. Wong C 9. IKF 2B
  17. Only GRE won, last night as the farm went 1-5. Here are the top stats for players with 7+ games played: 1.590 Arias 1.124 Opata 1.042 Tucker 1.019 Cheng .980 Delay .974 Gasper .952 Capra .932 Baez .916 Salazar .902 King .892 Cespedes .862 White .853 Pinto .842 Y Rod .838 Guzman (KC is at .703) _________________ OPS Against (7+IP) .171 Futrell .337 Bennett .360 Eyanson .375 Bickerstaff .425 Rivera .441 Valera .483 Holobetz .504 Walker .510 Uberstine .513 Bouchard .521 Rogers .558 Martinez .572 Anderson .578 Brown .585 Finley .609 Olds .619 Tolle .624 Patton .646 Gartrell (Witherspoon is at .731)
  18. Facing a tough lefty, today. I wonder if Cora keeps Contreras 2nd and Abreu 3rd (.842 v L, this year in a SSS.)
  19. I don't disagree, but have a look-see at other ALE teams and their top 9 batters' BA: NYY .140 McMahon .145 Grisham .174 Chisholm .184 Wells .215 Caballero (Goldschmidt is at .188 w 20 PAs) TOR .094 Lukes .185 Springer .188 Okamoto .194 Schneider (.053 Barger in 23 PAs/.174 Valenzuela in 24) BAL .148 Basallo .167 Mayo .195 Cowser .200 Henderson (most PAs on team) (Alonso is at .216) TBR has 3 guys below .214
  20. We are 8-11. Maybe we are 9-10 with Story at 2B.
  21. Story has also slipped a little with the glove and range, but it's the arm that is the major issue. Not only does he make to many bad throws, the slow throws don't show up on FLDG% or Error counts. I actually like Story, and while the Ks are bothersome, he seems to get more than his fair share of RBIs, so I've lived with it. Ideally he bats 7th vs R and 6th v L, and plays 2B. Who plays 2B and 3B is a secondary issue.
  22. Nice post. I'm no expert on this stuff, but whatever it was, it was nasty as hell.
  23. TOR is still playing, but the ALE looks like this: 11-8 TBR 11-9 NYY -0.5 10-10 BAL -1.5 8-11 BOS -3.0 (2 GB last WC slot) 7-11 TOR -3.5
