  1. Yes, it doesn't help the batting, which looks helpless, right now. Why not put the better fielding alignment on the field?
  2. Add Sonny Gray to the worries.
  3. Maybe we see this... Sandoval to IL (Maybe retro to 60 Day IL) Holobetz AA>>>AAA (26 y/o Mullins could be promoted, instead or with JH.) Eyanson A+>>>AA (make Futrell the SP at A+?)
  4. From MLB.com... Patrick Sandoval was in Boston today to undergo some testing after felt some left biceps soreness in the aftermath of his last minor league rehab outing. Red Sox manager Alex Cora didn’t have any info on the outcome of those tests when speaking with MassLive.com’s Chris Cotillo and other reporters earlier today, and it wasn’t yet known if Sandoval would even be formally pulled off his 30-day minor league rehab assignment. Sandoval has made two starts during the assignment as he continues to work his way back from an internal brace surgery in July 2024. Kutter Crawford also hasn’t pitched since 2024 (due to wrist and knee injuries that cost him the entirety of the 2025 campaign), and the right-hander’s own rehab assignment has also been put on pause due to a new health concern. Crawford underwent an MRI today after he felt some elbow soreness following his first rehab outing, so both Crawford and Sandoval are currently in limbo as they await their next steps. The Sox have avoided any injury setbacks within their starting five, though these setbacks for Sandoval and Crawford create more questions about the team’s rotation depth. Johan Oviedo is on the 60-day injured list due to a flexor strain, and recent call-up Tyler Uberstine is on the Triple-A injured list due to shoulder soreness. Top prospect Payton Tolle made his MLB debut last season and is Boston’s first option for a call-up if a need develops in the rotation.
  5. That seems to be his major flaw, and firing a manger is always easier than rebooting the whole roster.
  6. I still can't believe HOU would not do Paredes for Duran straight-up. I thought we should get King, Sousa or Janek with Paredes, but had it been 1 for 1, both teams looked to get better.
  7. It's only April 20th, yet this feels like a must win game. (I'm not saying it is, but man-o-man, this sucks bigtime.)
  8. 8-13 Tied for 12th worst AL record with TOR. HOU, KCR & CWS are worse.
  9. If we really suck by the deadline, I don't see very much high trade value- low control year players to deal. 1 year: Gray, Sandoval & IKF 1-2 years: Chapman could be the prize 2 years: Story, Yoshida, Oviedo & Houck 3: Contreras, Duran, Romy, Crawford, Casas, Wong
  10. I'd have been fine with that. I felt Duran was the main guy to trade, but I'm not sure he'd bring back what I wanted. Trading Mayer seemed to fill one need while opening another, and as it turns out Durbin-IKF don't seem like capable replacements. We'd have need Mayer plus for KMarte and Duran and maybe plus for Paredes. That would have locked Story at SS.
  11. That was what I think the Sox felt "met the need." My point was they were wrong (on Breggie being a big bat.).
  12. Yup. There are many ways to work you way up or fall down.
  13. I understand that and miss that aspect of him. I wasn't against brining him back, but not at the CHC price and not to fill the high need of a BIG BAT. Contreras looked like a bigger bat to me than Breggie, last winter.
  14. Of course the pitchers with nasty stuff get all the hype, and rightfully so, but sometimes someone without it comes along and surprises. He's got a decent change-up and FB.
  15. To me, it's about how many guys were offered the job before Brez. That is his ranking- more or less.
  16. They basically got Suarez plus one from Durbin & IKF instead of their top goal- Bregman. Yes, Contreras looks better than Alonso and at a fraction of the cost and long term commitment.
  17. This offense needed more than KMarte, Neto or Paredes/Hoerner. At this point, it looks like we probably needed Contreras, Schwarber AND Paredes/Hoerner/Neto/KMarte.
  18. It's only early when Early pitches. My thread is like a spider's thread, at this point.
  19. I suggested KMart, Neto, Paredes and maybe Hoerner, and others that are not off to great starts. I was not big on paying that much for Bregman, but he was their "main piece," and they dropped the ball on at least levels with him: 1. They failed to land him. 2. They failed when they made him the "main piece" and target.
  20. No more than any other age group. Let's see at season's end, especially the 25-27 year olds.
  21. If the Sox happened to interview two guys before Brez and didnt want them, it doesnt bump Brez down to the 11th choice.
