  1. True, but some of those slots go to returning 60 Day IL players and another 5-7 for Rule 5 additions. If we do as I suggest, and add just 3-4 quality FAs or trade additions, instead of 7-10 "quantity additions" like we have in the past few years, we won't need to trade Walter to open a slot, but if we sign a bunch or mediocre FAs, then he may get squeezed.
  2. They should rename the award The Wish He Could Be better at Defense Award.
  3. Your post of the month.
  4. If the morality police take over, there may not be anybody left to play or manage.
  5. I think they gave that award to Dalbec, too, so there is that.
  6. He might be back, but not at that option price. I also think they now see Yoshida s the DH and with a bunch of LF'ers on the roster, it makes too much sense to not move Yoshi there.
  7. Agreed on Walter, although he could be part of a trade package, if we think we need to open up a roster slot for a FA addition.
  8. I'm not presumming anything. You did, when you said he was cheating, then back-peddled to "suspect," and now are swinging back to assuming he still is.
  9. I could see them saying no to Joely's $4.25 option ($500K buyout,) too. Also, add to the possible DFA list: Walter DHam We may also trade Duran or Dugo, or maybe Refsnyder, if we bring back Duvall.
  10. Suspect is different from stating he still cheats.
  11. Huh?
  12. He cheated in 2018 ans 2021?
  13. ...and 2B and LF, if Yoshida DHs 120+ games. C, 1B & 3B offer hope, but nothing to suggest improvement is likely.
  14. If only they could exist elsewhere...
  15. I did not say a manager cannot improve a player's defense. I even said he shares in the blame. The roster was ridiculed from day one, then injuries and declines from some vets occurred, yet somehow, Cora is to blame. Listening to you guys, all year, the sum of the parts sucked, and Cora nearly got us to .500.
  16. We do see some pretty awesome starting 9's on other teams, especially in our own division. It might take more than just "fixing the rotation" to get us seriously "back in the game." Other teams faced injuries, like we did, but I do see some hopes in improvements based just on more games played. While Story's -0.2 fWAR does not fit into that group, I do think a healthy Story will be vastly better than the circus we saw there, this year. Reyes + Urias gave us a +0.6 fWAR in about 90 games. That could easily reach 1.0 with 160 games player between them, and that's if Urias does not return to his previous form. Project Duran to 150 games, and he leads the team in fWAR. (I don't expect that, but he did look promising.) Casas missed time, early and late. Any improvement in defense could see him near 2.5. Abreu + Rafaela are at +1.0 fWAR in just 55 games. It's hard to know where they end up. Wong and McGuire totaled a 1.3 fWAR. That's about middle of the pack with improvement possible. Devers, Dugo and Yoshi are hard to project. We may need 2 of them to bust out to have a real chance. Bringing Duvall back and his 1.9 fWAR in just 87 games provides some room for a boost, too. Lots of ifs.
  17. Why do tiny, initial stat lines matter? They prove nothing. If they did, Dalbec would be an allstar.
  18. What parson alive can teach a 20 or 30 something player to play good defense in a few short months? I do think Cora and Bloom share in some of the blame, but it's time the players start taking "ownership."
  19. They plagiarized my posts.
  20. I said I was sorry for saying you hated Core. Why you keep acting like I never admitted my mistake says more about you than me. I've yet to hear one tiny apology for all the times you misquoted me and twisted my views, sometime to the exact opposite of what it was/is. Talk about a "curse." We all have seen sore losers, but you win a point and stay sore for years. I do not think anyone who would not have hired Cora, hates him. I don't think anyone who wants him fired, now, hates him, but it apparently makes you feel good or whatever it is that floats your boat on things like this to think I do. Wanting Cora gone can be for many reasons having nothing to do with hate. I'm not sure what more a guy can do to get you to stop lying by saying "he thinks," as in still does. I'll settle for just stopping the lies. I'll never see an apology and never have. One time, you came close by admitting you misquoted me, but no apology, despite repeating the lie several times, after I showed you my exact quote several time. You double and tripled down, like you always do.
  21. Remaining Domer Schedule: @ Duke #17 @ Louisville vs USC #8 off week vs PITT @ Clemson off week vs Wake Forest @ Stanford Probably looking at 3 losses- 2 with some luck. Probably a better chance at 4 losses than 2.
  22. You mean we don't suck?
  23. I think the ranking services will agree with you on their winter ranking lists.
  24. Nope. False assumptions, again? I brought it up once before and apologized. It didn't matter. I'm cautioning others not to do the same. Not projection. Not out of some sore of "relationship issue." Just friendly advice. Keep it going, if you wish. Stir the pot and run.
  25. Like I said, just don't say you hate Cora.
