    Yes, but my point was that most of their financial obligations are from 2 or more years ago. Rodon was the biggest FA signing in 2 years.

    Cole, Stanton, LeMahieu and others signed or extended before 2022 are still more than half the budget, right?

    The 2024 outlook looks very bleak, right now. I can’t see how Brez can pull this off.

    I’ll be calling for a full fire sale of one year players, if we end up with less than this: Imanaga or Stroman Giolito or Paxton Drury or Polanco via trade Since the odds are very low we do this much or more, it looks like a P, to me.

    That it does. I went into this winter with zero expectations but some faint hopes our management might snap out of it. It looks more and more like a long wait for the top prospects to arrive and settle in. Full throttle sham is what this is. I’ll still watch the games and hope the kids can carry us, but I can’t see us doing better than last year even with Stroman and Paxton, alone.

    It can’t hurt, but it seems like Werner wants to spend more, and that didn’t help.

    I do t think we get Imanaga, but he or Stroman might still be a slight hope. Giolito does not impress me at all.

    That’s a long ways away, but yes, hopefully we learned something. Maybe it will work out whereby they don’t all reach their last year of control the same year. The long term future is about the only thing I’m really excited about, now. I’m sure I’ll start coming around as we near opening day. We should have some nice story lines in 2024.

    It looks like our best hope might be Imanaga. Giolito is also a possibility. I would not bet against Paxton out pitching Giolito in ‘24. Maybe we end up with Imanaga and Paxton. Trade for Polanco or Dury. Maybe sign Teoscar and trade Duran?

    Probably. The judge extension was huge, but I guess most of the AAV is from over a couple years ago.
