  1. Right. Now I’d be disappointed if they didnt take the series. Gotta go for it.
  2. I was half hoping he’d plunck Gardner again at the end, then bring in Kimbrel. Is that wrong?
  3. Ha! No. But it was a huge mess. Gravy all over the field.
  4. Ok. This game is already f***ing crazy haha Betts at 2B. The f*** is gong on with our hammys? Do we stretch? Are we hydrated?
  5. Guess Pearce WAS saving some HRs for tonights game.
  6. https://www.overthemonster.com/2018/8/3/17645652/ian-kinsler-dustin-pedroia-red-sox-second-base
  7. Kinsler’s defense was jaw-dropping last night and I loved his rbi hit over and through the shift. Pearce’s monster game he’ll remember forever. JBJ, who’s great slide was the turning point (If I had to pick a turning point). JBJ has made that type of slide before. He’s really good at that. Creating enough distance from the catcher to have a chance. That’s before one even mentions our usual suspects of Betts, Beni, JD. It’s funny how that game was supposed to be a Sale start originally, no Bogaerts or Devers, spotting them 3 then 4 runs from the get-go, turns into the funnest game of the season.
  8. Pearce trying to hit for a HR-Cycle... Holy god
  9. So umm Kinslers working out i’d say
  10. This game sure didn’t start well for us, but damn... this 4th inning is never ending
  11. All the Sox need to do is split. If they do that I’m a happy guy.
  12. Gotta say, I like this too. An up-the-middle defense upgrade in a pennant race and inevitable post season run. This is yet another solid move by DD. I was hearing rumors of Beltre for 3B (I’d have welcomed that as well), but I think this is better considering the position itself.
  13. Wow! Never expected 2 on that run down
  14. In theory, I think Eovaldi buys us a couple more Pom starts. But that’s all i’d give him. Two starts at the most to prove himself. Tgen Johnson’s our fall back.
  15. But you’re also assuming guys like Sale where available for trade at that time. I don’t think they were. In fact, we all know Sale in particular wasn’t available. It took serious, well reported issues that Sale had with the White Sox organization for them to even consider moving him.
  16. Ugh of course more rain. Price didn’t look too thrilled heading inside
  17. Love it when you just tune in and Mookie hits a 3-run shot.
  18. It does seem like the yanks went out of their way to strengthen a strength.
  19. I like Eovaldi’s Whip & K’s. Can’t look at his W/L record. His ERA is pedestrian.. We give him some run support he should suffice as our 4th SP. I may have like Fiers slightly more, but ahh... Six of one, half-dozen of the other. At least we addressed it.
  20. Correct. I forgot about this.
  21. True. Sox should just be in the Britton sweepstakes to drive up the price... or at least try to keep the price honest. Dangle the very few carrots we have left with a firm grip on the strings.
  22. Britton wld be a little overboard for us. We don’t have to go that big imo. There should be plenty of (7th, 8th inning) RPers available for trade on s*** teams that aren’t closers.
  23. My opinion is less biased then you’d imagine. And I’m not responsible for other people’s feelings.
  24. Yeah! God! f*** those unbiased, even-handed, pragmatic *******s! It’s sickening.
  25. Besides the drafts... The Dogder Dump was brilliant. I never thought Signing Napoli was going to be that much of a drop-off at 1B for that ‘13 season and he kept plugging the holes with gamers like Nap, Vic, & Gomes. Most considered these moves a bit weak at the time, but these moves coupled with our core players at the time were just what the doctor ordered. Later, some say Ben hoarded prospects and was afraid to make moves. But the timing has to be right to do that in my opinion. For example, we could have easily have Margot roaming our OF instead of Betts right now... if you think about it. And that’s nothing against Margot, but you get my point. It’s nice to know what you have first. For all the bad moves Ben, justifiably I might add, gets the blame, clearly there were even more opportunities to make even more bad moves under him. Anyone can choose a certain narrative and keep painting away at it, but to get a clearer more honest picture one needs to be a little more objective. Most teams could do worse than Ben Cherington.. and they usually do.
