  1. It appears that both AL division series are headed for a game 5. If I were a fan of any of the 4 AL teams, I'd be a nervous wreck. But since I'm not, this is great stuff. Go baseball!
  2. It might have been borderline as far as being within the rules, but IMO, it was bush league and dirty. You don't wait until you're at the bag to slide. That was more of a tackle than a slide. Utley has a reputation for questionable slides. He and his teammates are lucky that they are in the post season and that Collins is being smart about this. He has instructed Harvey not to retaliate, which is a wise decision considering the magnitude of the game.
  3. I have nothing against bringing Lackey back, but you are assuming that he'd want to come back. I don't think he would.
  4. And how it can turn back to chicken salad just as quickly. The game is not over yet, but it appears that the Jays will force a game 5. IMO, advantage back to the Jays.
  5. The whole Adrian Gonzalez trade was another emotional roller coaster. One minute, he's this close to coming to the Sox. The next minute, he's on a plane back to San Diego. The next minute, he's a Red Sox.
  6. This is pretty much it. Well, not the red wine part. LOL Damon broke my heart. I agree that things are different now that George is no longer running the team.
  7. I don't hate the Cardinals. I respect their organization. It is very well run. That said, I would rather see another team win the WS. I think it's fun, and good for baseball, when a team like the Astros or Cubs win it all.
  8. You can't write it up any better than Lester vs Lackey. Nothing against Lackey, but go Lester!
  9. As the saying goes, anyone but the Yankees! The postseason will be so much more enjoyable without them.
  10. Oh, there is all kinds of stress, trust me. It is not only stress related to our beloved Sox, but that other team too.
  11. I'm pulling for the Cubs, but I really don't have anything against the Pirates. The Yankees are out, so I'm good to go. I'm just hoping to see some good postseason baseball. That said, I would prefer it not be the Cardinals again.
  12. That's the understatement of the year.
  13. This is true. We really have no place to go but up.
  14. Because it's a freaking emotional roller coaster.
  15. I don't know Emmz, but I've read a lot her posts from before. I'm not seeing any similarity between us.
  16. Defending a position does not mean one is being adversarial, nor does it mean that one sees another's post as adversarial. Stop telling me what I think or what I feel, and stop trying to make something adversarial that was not.
  17. I hate the Hot Stove. Absolutely hate all the rumors, the speculation, the waiting, etc. That said, I will be here. Where else am I going to go?
  18. I think you broke some kind of game thread unwritten rule. You put the major whammy on the team by doing that.
  19. Yeah, that was not the best way to end the season. Oh well, we got to see some really fun baseball in the last two months.
  20. You seem awfully concerned about the Sox draft position for next year.
  21. The timing is a little odd, but he has to do what he has to do. His health and his family come first. I'm sure he would have liked to get through the season, but I'm thinking something pretty bad probably happened that gave him the wake up call that he needed. Regardless of the timing and the reasons for his decision, good for him. I wish him the best of luck.
  22. Farrell is coming back, if healthy, with Lovullo returning as his bench coach. Lovullo has waived his right to interview for other managerial positions to be Farrell's right hand man. This says a lot about Lovullo. I like it. Should Farrell not be able to perform the job for any reason, we have a good man in Lovullo to step in.
  23. Baseball games should not all be played at the same time. It is impossible to watch them all. LOL
  24. I have no disagreement with this post. It still does not negate the fact that you cannot fully assess the Red Sox players without looking at the stats.
