  1. That's the worst thing about it. We're going to lose some games. The Os lost the first game of their doubleheader, so we didn't lose any ground to them. But, we are allowing the Yankees to build some confidence, which is never a good thing.
  2. This weekend of baseball has really stunk so far. I was thinking this morning, "Oh good. We have Price on the mound. There's no way we're losing today." I don't know what's going on with him, but I hope he figures it out soon. As in by his next start. And the Sox better not ruin my Mother's Day tomorrow!
  3. Thank you.
  4. It was not a good contract, but should not have gone this sour this quickly. Pablo was due to regress this year. How much? I don't know, but I don't think a 2 WAR player was beyond the realm of possibility. Optimistic maybe, but not impossible.
  5. You are making a lot of assumptions about his character based on the fact that he is fat. That is what I am taking issue with.
  6. Read a tweet today about Iglesias' Defensive Runs Saved since being traded is -3.
  7. A fine article from Matthew Kory today on Cherington. Cherington is not without fault, but seriously people, give him the credit that he deserves. Not only does this year's team look good, but it looks to be well set for years to come.
  8. I have missed your optimism Yaz. There's a long season to go, but things are certainly looking good right now.
  9. LOL, the prosecution may rest.
  10. Another shout out to our awesome mod YOTN! It's not my place to say, but I agree with you about the multitude of new threads. For me, it's been a little overwhelming. The members that are here from BDC are great, as are their discussions, but I think that a lot of the discussions can be conducted in threads that already exist. My 2 cents, but I'll survive either way.
  11. Just messing with you CP. My attempt at humor, definitely posted with good nature.
  12. He can only incite if you allow him to do so.
  13. LOL I almost forgot how much I missed you guys.
  14. Of course with his injury he can't do his job, I was saying that if he were not injured, you don't know that he would have been a disaster this year. Either way, it is a very good thing that we have Shaw.
  15. I was waiting for you to chime in on this because I remember how against this trade you were. I disagree with you on this, but I understand where you're coming from. Again, I think what made the deal possible was the depth the team felt they had at SS and 3B at the time the trade was made. I think you also have to factor in the vote of confidence this trade must have given the team. That effect is something that can't be measured, but when the FO is willing to "go for it" at the trade deadline, it sends a strong message to the team.
  16. LOL I've always liked Babe, aside from the fact that he's a Yankees fan. He's harmless. The thing about Babe is, like Jacko, when he's not trolling, he's actually a very knowledgeable and good poster.
  17. Clay has taken a beating here. I can understand the frustration with him. He is maddening to watch sometimes, especially since we know how good he can be. You would think that with the success that he has when he pitches with conviction that he would have more confidence in himself. He's a tough one to figure out.
  18. I agree, getting Papi was the best move. The best trade was Varitek and Lowe for Slocumb.
  19. There were some other doozies, but I would have to agree with this.
  20. I don't think it was one of the worst, but this one still ticks me off on principle.
  21. These little stories about Price keep trickling out too. You never hear a bad thing about him whether in terms of being a great teammate and leader or in terms of the time he takes with the fans. He's a good one, both on and off the field.
  22. The bottom line is that the FO felt that Iglesias was dispensable. They did not see him as a starter in their long term plans. I much prefer a defense over offense at SS, but I was okay with the trade because of the depth that we had. Truth be told, Bogaerts has made me forget about Iglesias.
  23. Along with what others have said, there is no way that Dr. Andrews would go along with this "cover up" if he has any professional integrity. Even if he doesn't have any integrity, which I believe he does, he would be risking his reputation and his career by doing something like this. With this being such a high profile case, there is no way that he would be so reckless.
