  1. Exactly!
  2. I have zero confidence in Bogaerts right now. I am wondering what has happened to the concept of protecting the plate. Maybe it's my imagination, but they seem to swing at pitches that aren't anywhere near the plate for strike 3, and they get caught looking at strike 3 on close pitches. Maybe some of those were actually balls, but they are close enough that the hitters have to protect. And I'm not just talking about Bogaerts.
  3. One bad thing about the expanded rosters is the 157 pitching changes that we have to deal with.
  4. Elias has been called up to save his last option, which the Sox won't lose now because he was called back up within 20 days (or something like that).
  5. I am glad to see Swihart called up.
  6. He could have put a weak hitting pitcher in the clean up spot all season and only cost the team about 15 (or was it 18?) runs.
  7. Not me. I want the Yankees out. NOW!
  8. He is not a good defender, but IMO, Bogaerts desperately needs to sit for a few games. The defensive difference between Nunez and Bogaerts should not be that great, but the offensive upgrade should be.
  9. He's not even going to play complete games right now.
  10. No way.
  11. Good point about both catchers being able to stay somewhat fresh by not being a 'full time' starter. I agree that they are the least of our worries. On a related note, pitch framing stats to date, courtesy of StatCorner: Vazquez - Ranks 7th among all catchers with 6.3 runs above average Leon - Ranks 12th among all catchers with 3.5 runs above average Our catchers have been worth roughly 1 WIN in terms of pitch framing.
  12. Perhaps.
  13. Yes, I am talking about this year.
  14. Dear Red Sox, There is nothing I hate more than losing to the Yankees. Do not tick me off again tonight. Thanks!
  15. I knew there was a reason why I love Mr. Rice.
  16. I seem to be in the minority here, but I have no problem with Beni trying to stretch that single into a double. It was probably too risky, but that is not a play that I would consider stupid. I'm not sure how the play was overturned by the review team. There was no conclusive evidence. Bogus.
  17. CC is being a whiny crybaby. Because athletes NEVER exploit any weakness of their opponent.
  18. This is a good point.
  19. I don't like either team, but going with the lesser of 2 evils, I hope the Os sweep.
  20. Good to see you SoxHop and glad you guys are okay.
  21. I think I read today that he had successful back surgery today or yesterday? Also read that there is a decent chance that Price will pitch out of the pen if he returns.
  22. The mark of a good team. Lose one of your best players and don't miss a beat.
  23. I am just wondering if any of you have seen a noticeable difference in production one way or another with all of the line up tweaks Farrell has used.
  24. Bogaerts is still dealing with the hand injury. He needs a break of several games. Hopefully Farrell will give him that break when Pedroia returns and the rosters expand.
  25. One thing that most managers are good about that most fans are not good about is having patience. Managers cannot react to every small sample slump or hot streak.
