  1. I love you. That is all.
  2. No, what we had in March is very relevant. That's the GM's job.
  3. Seriously, no one can fault a GM for the way the team performed under Valentine. As far as 2014 and 2015, if a team underperforms, is that the fault of the GM? If we extend Betts like everyone here wants to do, and he goes into a complete spiral in the first year of his extension, is that the GM's fault?
  4. It was not, and yet, the team was predicted to be a playoff contender. While I am not a fan of building an offense first team, it was the offense that was supposed to carry that year's team, while the pitching was supposed to be able to pitch well enough to keep the team in the game. We may not have liked the way the team was constructed, but we still should have competed for a playoff spot.
  5. Back to back to back. It needed to be said again.
  6. I don't think that's the point either. I think the point is with the competition within the division. Seattle and Houston have to play Oakland, LAA, and Texas 18 times a piece, while the Red Sox and Yankees play Tampa, Toronto, and Baltimore 18, who are weaker, 18 times a piece.
  7. Yes, but Fenway's left and right fields play a lot different than most.
  8. Pitchers like Sale can pitch to anyone, or should be able to. It's the guys like ERod and Price who need that veteran and solid presence behind the plate.
  9. 2018 Defensive stats for JD: LF: DRS = -4, UZR/150 = -16.8 RF: DRS = -2, UZR/150 = -9.9
  10. Way to cherry pick just part of his post. Here is the complete post: Very snarky "I told you so" type post. Unfortunately for him, he didn't tell me anything.
  11. Who said that the two things are mutually exclusive? Division titles and playoff berths would still be in the picture.
  12. You're scared, aren't you? You should be!
  13. And the highly rated and appreciated metric folks would be right. But much to your dismay, putting JD in RF has nothing to do with him actually be a good defensive right fielder. It has to do with JD being slightly less bad in RF than he is in LF, and with Beni being way better in LF than he is in CF.
  14. What harm does it do bringing him in? If he doesn't amount to anything, no harm done. With the peripherals Notin posted, he's worth a shot.
  15. Maybe now that Swihart knows that he is the 2nd catcher, he will seize this opportunity and perform like we all hope that he will. I'm pulling for the guy, as I know you are.
  16. The 5.2 innings don't bother me, per se. What frustrates me is getting ahead 0-2, then rather than attacking the batter and putting him away, the next thing you know, the count is 3-2. I believe it was you who made the comparison to a young Jon Lester. Once Erod learns to pound the zone, he has the stuff to get deeper into games.
  17. You have to think outside that box now and then.
  18. The top two teams of the AL East are dominant. No doubt. I don't think that's what Harmony's argument was.
  19. Wasn't ERod pitching at a quicker pace in his last start? It seems to me that he was. I think if he got the sign and threw what the catcher called for, do less thinking, he might have a tendency to nibble less.
  20. I think it's fun, and I agree that it's cool to see our guys get recognized, though I'd prefer they get the rest as well. The whole thing about using it to determine home field advantage was really stupid though, IMO.
  21. There you go. My son agrees.
  22. Well I have no interest in the other 3, so I couldn't really say. My son, a complete sports enthusiast, loves the basketball all star festivities.
