I'm not thrilled about giving up Beeks either, especially after only pitching 6 innings in the majors, but on the whole, I'm good with this trade. It would have been nice if we could have more clarity on the status of our injured pitchers, but with so many question marks in our rotation, Eovaldi is a good get.
The good news is that his contract keeps us under the next luxury tax limit and also allows us to add a reliever.
At the very least, Eovaldi adds some much needed depth.
