  1. Yankees fans, what do you expect. With their chants of "We want Boston!" Well, of course they want Boston. The alternative would be to go home.
  2. I do. But I don't understand what the advantage is of Wright starting, followed by Sale versus Sale starting, followed by Wright. I prefer the latter.
  3. Sale is good to go. Let's get this done boys!
  4. I don't drink, but I may have to start!
  5. Or you might be good enough to beat the Sox but lose anyway.
  6. I don't like Dombrowski's 'win at any cost' philosophy, as you well know, but if the Sox don't advance in the playoffs, it won't be Dombrowski's fault. He put together a team that's not just good enough to win it all, but one that is arguably better than any team in the playoffs, save for maybe the Astros, and arguably one of the best teams in Red Sox history. That said, if we do get eliminated, this will be Exhibit A as to why it's not a good idea to follow that 'win at any cost' philosophy.
  7. I read the first name on the list and stopped reading.
  8. Ben has withdrawn his name from consideration from both the Mets and the Giants. He is in demand. He'll GM again when the time is right.
  9. Self important twits.
  10. I don't get it. Maybe because I'm not a Star Wars fan?
  11. In Cora we trust.
  12. No reason to be scared of the Yankees.
  13. Wright has only started 4 games this year, so disregarding one of those four is really not painting an accurate picture. I'm not trying bash Wright. IMO, he has been very good. But I don't agree with the idea of him starting over Sale or Price.
  14. I guess I don't see what the advantage is of starting Wright for about 2 innings, then having Sale follow him, versus having Sale start and having Wright follow Sale.
  15. I think there's a fine line between playing with a sense of urgency and playing tense, though. While you want they guys to have a sense of urgency, you also want them to feel loose and not be pressing all the time. It's a delicate balance.
  16. The trifecta of micro-managing managers that I can't stand, Showalter, Scioscia, and Maddon, could all be ousted in the same season.
  17. It makes for some good baseball, that's for sure.
  18. That was an awesome game. Very tense through most of the game. I would have been a basket case if the Red Sox were playing that game. Congrats to the Rockies.
  19. I had not seen a Statcast before. I was in heaven watching it. They flashed some wRC+ stats up there. Who does that??? LOL It was awesome! Not to mention that I didn't have to listen to the ESPN Sunday crew.
  20. As for our countdown to the parade, the party bus is ready to go! Bring it on!
  21. Ha ha. Nice! He could have been even more clutch in that series if the umpire hadn't taken the out of his hands by calling strike 3 on an obvious ball, with a young David Price the opposing pitcher. That call still sits with me.
