  1. He did. I would be worried if said otherwise. I'll give up on Pedroia when he gives up on himself.
  2. I think Moreland and Pearce make a very fine tandem at 1B. They should help to keep each other healthy.
  3. Well, kind of a moot point now that Pearce is re-signed.
  4. Mostly that he keeps calling me his brother. LOL
  5. Mojo is very real! Clutch and momentum, not so much.
  6. Pedroia has already said that he's 100% in to start the season.
  7. I can't see Devers not being our starting 3B next year. He's a work in progress but he is going to be something special. With him, we have to have patience.
  8. Quit making strawman arguments. It doesn't suit you.
  9. Amen, brother Notin.
  10. This year was sweet, indeed. Anytime we can beat the Yankees enroute to a championship it's all that much sweeter. The Yankees fans wanted Boston because there alternative was to go home. LOL
  11. Actually, I'm always looking for something good to happen.
  12. This is a great time to be a Red Sox fan, no doubt. That said, I take great solace in the Yankees losing.
  13. The cliff has nothing to do with the current state of the team, or the ability to enjoy the current season.
  14. Ha. Great minds. It's great to be a Red Sox fan.
  15. It's a lot easier to get through as World Series Champs. Thanks Dave!
  16. I much prefer home grown talent over free agents or trades. Home grown > Trades > Free agents
  17. He does, but it is actually a very good thing when Jacko posts things like this. He has the uncanny knack of reverse mojo, or whatever you want to call it. I believe he is single handedly responsible for the Red Sox World Series Championship this past season.
  18. I believe we heard the same thing from you last year Jacko. I'm sure the Yankees are not done this offseason. You will field a very good team, but so will we. Plus, we have Cora.
  19. Based on what I was reading today, Vaz is going nowhere. We are likely to trade a catcher, and it's likely to be Swihart.
  20. I thought it was a bad idea when it happened.
  21. The move worked out fine. More than fine. We really didn't miss Hanley at all. That said, DFAing him was all about the money.
  22. Esteban Quiroz, we hardly knew ye. I'm a little surprised he was traded, but I guess relief pitching depth is a bigger need than 2B depth. And who knows, Brewer might actually be good.
  23. In case you missed it, Bradford mentioned this moment in an article on WEEI today, titled How Analytics Helped the Red Sox Win Their World Series. Of all the regular season moments that helped pave the way for the Red Sox' World Series title, what happened in the sixth inning back on June 21 in Minneapolis has to be pushed to the top of the list. With the Sox holding a 2-0 lead over the Twins, Rick Porcello delivered his 0-2 offering to Joe Mauer. The lefty hitter jumped on the pitch, sending into the right-center field gap, almost exactly where Mookie Betts was standing. In fact, the right fielder had to take exactly three steps back before casually hauling in the liner. After throwing the ball back in and signaling the first out, Betts couldn't help himself. The right fielder who had been adamant that he and his Red Sox' outfield-mates didn't need those cards and analytics being thrown the infielders way since spring training -- going so far as telling WEEI.com back in April, "It doesn't seem like baseball sometimes with all of the extreme shifts," -- couldn't help himself. He took the card out of his back pocket and waved it toward the Red Sox' dugout with a huge grin. I am just glad that someone else enjoyed that moment as much as I did.
  24. The Yankees will be good, but the Red Sox are scary good.
  25. I was sad to read this. He was really a lot of fun to watch.
