  1. Well, it's not something you would want to throw JD into out of the blue in the middle of the season. He could be taking grounders during the off season. Let him take reps at 1B throughout spring training and throughout the season. Cora is the master of selling these types of changes to the players, so I'm sure JD would be fully on board. Just because JD wouldn't be needed to play 1B, that doesn't mean he can't play there periodically throughout the season. He could play there to give Moreland or Pearce a rest, where one of them could be the DH. I think it makes a lot of sense.
  2. I mostly agree with this post in terms of the confidence factor. FTR, I never agreed with the idea that Price was 'unclutch' in the postseason. Where I disagree with you is in the following: 1. Momentum does not exist in terms of being a predictor. 2. Clutch does not exist in terms of being able to raise one's game to an otherworldly level.
  3. I get that why you feel that way. I, OTOH, will believe Pedroia until something happens otherwise.
  4. Much to my dismay, I have the feeling the Swihart is going to be an odd man out regardless of other players' health.
  5. No doubt. I still think JD should take reps at 1B. My post about a moot point was in regard to bringing Hanley back.
  6. He did. I would be worried if said otherwise. I'll give up on Pedroia when he gives up on himself.
  7. I think Moreland and Pearce make a very fine tandem at 1B. They should help to keep each other healthy.
  8. Well, kind of a moot point now that Pearce is re-signed.
  9. Mostly that he keeps calling me his brother. LOL
  10. Mojo is very real! Clutch and momentum, not so much.
  11. Pedroia has already said that he's 100% in to start the season.
  12. I can't see Devers not being our starting 3B next year. He's a work in progress but he is going to be something special. With him, we have to have patience.
  13. Quit making strawman arguments. It doesn't suit you.
  14. Amen, brother Notin.
  15. This year was sweet, indeed. Anytime we can beat the Yankees enroute to a championship it's all that much sweeter. The Yankees fans wanted Boston because there alternative was to go home. LOL
  16. Actually, I'm always looking for something good to happen.
  17. This is a great time to be a Red Sox fan, no doubt. That said, I take great solace in the Yankees losing.
  18. The cliff has nothing to do with the current state of the team, or the ability to enjoy the current season.
  19. Ha. Great minds. It's great to be a Red Sox fan.
  20. It's a lot easier to get through as World Series Champs. Thanks Dave!
  21. I much prefer home grown talent over free agents or trades. Home grown > Trades > Free agents
  22. He does, but it is actually a very good thing when Jacko posts things like this. He has the uncanny knack of reverse mojo, or whatever you want to call it. I believe he is single handedly responsible for the Red Sox World Series Championship this past season.
  23. I believe we heard the same thing from you last year Jacko. I'm sure the Yankees are not done this offseason. You will field a very good team, but so will we. Plus, we have Cora.
  24. Based on what I was reading today, Vaz is going nowhere. We are likely to trade a catcher, and it's likely to be Swihart.
  25. I thought it was a bad idea when it happened.
