  1. Astros vs. Twinkies works for me.
  2. Nope. I will only pull for the Rays if they are playing the Yankees. Otherwise, it's anyone but the Rays.
  3. The only criticism that I have about Henry is his tendency to react rashly when it comes to GMs.
  4. I pretty much agree with this. The 2019 team should have been competitive, and Dombrowski should not be blamed for the team's performance.
  5. Nobody wants to pay tax, especially the higher penalties. Even the Yankees reset.
  6. Lucchino was not just a fall guy. He was responsible for much of what went wrong. I have no doubt in my mind.
  7. LOL It is kind of wrong to split the trifecta.
  8. Yankees in 3 and Astros in 4.
  9. Dodgers and Braves, both in 4 games.
  10. O.M.G. Having Scioscia and Maddon on the list is bad enough.
  11. I don't think there's that big of a gap between the ideal and the real. Especially for a team with the Red Sox' payroll. Theo also did the 'win at any cost' thing to bring that championship to the Cubs, which is understandable under those circumstances.
  12. I don't agree with the win now at any cost philosophy. I agree with the philosophy of balancing the short term goals with the long term goals. It's possible to do.
  13. Haha. Well played.
  14. Please, no.
  15. Good call.
  16. Great game. I watched the end of it just a little while ago. LOL about Pomeranz.
  17. LOL I'm a Porcello fan. I am fully on board with bringing him back on a team friendly deal.
  18. Most players are not going to make as much money in arb as Mookie did. Regardless, you need the cost-controlled players to help balance the cost of the expensive guys. You need the Rafael Devers of the world. Ideally, there should be a revolving door of farm players ready to step in when the other guys get too expensive.
  19. Possibly, if that also mean signing Betts to a ridiculous extension.
  20. Fair point. I hope the Sox will be forthright with JD about any plans to trade him.
  21. The Red Sox should not take dumping Betts lightly, but they shouldn't take extending him to a 10 year deal lightly either, regardless of his age and super stardom. A contract like that will just end up putting a similar bind on the Sox in the future that they are currently in. Personally, I think the Bogaerts extension was brilliant.
  22. Does it have to be an either/or though? We could have had a WS Championship, and still maintained a good farm system.
  23. It's not a matter of not enjoying anything. I 100% enjoyed 2018, despite not liking the way Dombrowski did his business. It's something to discuss on a baseball forum, that's all.
  24. I have never been a fan of big spending or trading tons of prospects. Farm system, farm system, farm system. I can't say it enough.
