  1. Amen brother.
  2. Pretty much any team has enough to retain anyone they want to. It doesn't work like that though.
  3. If we wanted to blow the budget up, we would have re-signed Mookie.
  4. LOL Jacko tends to get a little excited.
  5. I would have rather used the money on another starter, but outside of that, I have no problems with the move in terms of what we are giving up and what we are getting in return. Three moves in as many days. What else does Bloom have up his sleeve?
  6. Stop with the advanced stats. You're getting me excited. Also, his BABIP last year was .354 with a 66.2% LOB. He won't be as good as his 2019 ERA indicated, but he won't be as bad as his 2020 ERA.
  7. Exactly.
  8. Stop. This move is hardly a steal for the Yankees. It's a win-win. Both sides got what they wanted and needed.
  9. This one caught me by surprise. Not on the radar at all.
  10. I may be a homer, but pot, meet kettle. Yes, you have Cole. After that, you have as much health uncertainty as the Red Sox have.
  11. The high risk is two fold: 1. The Yankees are counting on another guy in the rotation who might not be able to provide much production. 2. If Taillon doesn't provide any effective innings, the Yankees have given up 4 prospects for nothing. You can call it breaking even, but it's not, regardless of whether the prospects may or may not amount to much.
  12. Potential loaded rotation. In a year that it's "time for #28", Cashman is worried about getting under the tax limit. It appears that the Yankees are not 'all in' either.
  13. I'm not so sure that Bloom is necessarily on board with going over. He may prefer to have the reset intact in the upcoming years.
  14. It could be that they sign a reliever and call it a day. Perhaps they go with what they have in the OF and reassess midseason. Or perhaps we are all assuming that the Sox will stay under the cap when no such mandate exists.
  15. LOL Not that I put a lot of stock into that site, but this is funny. This is a high risk move for the Yankees. I think it's a good get for the Yankees, but it's far from being a Cashman ripoff.
  16. I have no idea what other additions Bloom is looking into. I'm not sure if he's done with starting pitching or not. I'm also not sure whether he's done with CF or not. He may add another starter, then use some of the depth in the pen. I don't see JBJ being re-signed. I think he'll get far better offers elsewhere. Maybe Pillar?
  17. Seriously. I have been on the Rick Porcello bandwagon since he was acquired by the Red Sox. I wanted the Sox to re-sign him last year and was disappointed when they didn't.
  18. I saw this tweet from Red Sox Stats: How many starters in the AL East should you feel confident about? An argument can be made that we're not far off from the other AL East teams. Of course, a lot depends on health. Our depth guys should be much better than what we saw last year.
  19. Anyway, back to the topic at hand. This is a good get for the Yankees. That said, it is not a move without high risk. The Yankees' rotation might potentially be very good, but they have almost as much uncertainty as the Red Sox rotation does.
  20. You have Ben to thank for both 2013 and 2018, so stop.
  21. Despite your obvious sarcasm, this is exactly true. Ben is doing exactly what he needs to do and what he was hired to do.
  22. Our rotation could potentially be very good. Obviously, there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding them, but if they can stay healthy, they can be good. It would be nice to add a #3/4 type who doesn't have question marks surrounding his health.
