    Fair enough. I don't think you're 'handing him' away. You're clearing some salary and bringing in a power bat to play DH, while freeing up the roster from a virtually useless Masa and Casas. It'll never happen, and I'm not even sure it should, but as much as I like Duran - he's 4th outfielder right now and will stay that way unless something happens. Which is fine in itself, not many, if any teams have that sort of cover, but Harper isn't nothing, and brings an element this team badly misses - power. Regardless, it doesn't feel like a Brez move. I was mostly just mostly putting it down to stress test it in my mind.

    Where does Duran play? edit - Never mind I see you covered it above. I don't see how Masa gets at bats, never mind Casas.

    If there are injuries he will play the field, obviously. And he will be used to rest players every now and then. Otherwise he's at DH. Where he should be in that alignment of 4 players.

    Played 132 games last year. 145 the year before. And he'd be DH only in this scenario. Comes with risks for sure.

    He's going to be mostly DH. As you know. We'd miss his cover, but I'd rather Bryce at DH.

    I know this is a no-go from the off, but with Bryce dropping a hand grenade on Dombrowski this week, I wonder if they will want to trade him if they can. And whether we can make something work involving Masa along with Duran/Casas to counter the Masa inclusion while taking on all the money. Hugely unlikely I know, but Bryce at DH with Contreras at 1B would bring some pop to the line up without hurting us too much.

    It could be argued we've only moved laterally, too, however.

    This but Abreu in RF, Anthony in LF and Duran at DH, and giving rest to the others.

    Yeah, it's gone by in the blink of an eye for me.

    So close now. I don't know why, but this off season has seemed to fly by. Thankfully!

    If we can find a way to lose Yoshi, great, but I'd not be moving any more pitching right now.

    I think that is only the set up if Romy is out. Sounds like he may well be touch and go for making the season opener.

    I really hope they don't do that. I saw Cora saying they want to keep players in one position yesterday. I hope that sticks. As long As Durbin is good at 3rd, I'd just keep him there and let Romy do the Mayer platoon at 2nd.

    We don't need a DH. If we're getting rid of Yoshida, I don't want any bad contracts coming back that'll clog up the roster.

    For what end? We don't need another infielder.

    Only if Mayer plays full time, though. If he's being platooned - as I suspect - Story at SS.

    No more trading of starting pitching. Injuries will come and we need the depth.

    I REALLY hope they don't do the bouncing back and forth thing. Give the players their positions and leave them play there night in and night out.

    Yeah, it feels weird to me, too. It's more about the Romy games to me, you want him at 2nd, but maybe I'm overplaying it.

    It just feels nice to have a complete roster at last. And I now really like the IKF signing as well. Great depth at 3 positions, And I love the competitive draft pick. Really like this trade, even if I worry about our guaranteed power outage we're going forward with.

    Undeniable at this point. I can't say I'm looking forward to the offence, but it will be nice to see an actual decent infield defence for the first time in what feels like a decade.

    Yeah way too low for my money. I love the addition of the draft pick.

    Yeah. 131 out of 144 major league games at 3rd however. Reason I think he might stick at 3rd for us is that I think Cora will want to platoon Mayer with Romy. And you'd rather Romy at 2nd than 3rd.
