  1. Let's just hope we're not having the same condescending conversation about Devers in five years.
  2. While we were moaning about the lack of fundamentals, Yanks win on a walk-off in part because the Rays' catcher seemed not to know that he had a force at home, stood off the bag and tried to make a tag. (And SplSpl, I'm with you 100% on FL and TX.)
  3. Pivetta sucks.
  4. Throw strikes!
  5. I'm not sure I'd want to take the bat out of R's hands, which would happen whether Iggy made it or not. (Well, that was a wasted thought).
  6. Yeah, as a poster said after his first HR, he should have pulled the ball. What a chump. DFA him.
  7. As I've been saying all day.
  8. Bogaerts sucks; Devers sucks; Verdugo sucks ...
  9. Anyone know if Iglesias is eligible to play in the play-in or WC game? Or is the play-in game considered the post-season?
  10. Ha ha. Another internet tough guy. Never had any experience with that.
  11. Still mulling over the "pre-post-season." I believe today's game is NOT a must-win game. The next one is, correct?
  12. Nothing to you is humorous. I think we've all figured that out.
  13. Let me understand what it takes to be a true fan: (1) trash Sale when he gets K's. (2) trash Devers because his HR should have been to right field?
  14. Devers sucks.
  15. There is no scenario where the RS do not play tomorrow, right? (or in some WC or pre-WC game)
  16. Sale is already a good pitcher.
  17. Yeah, maybe it's just me. I'd rather have Sale strike guys out than let them hit the ball.
  18. They just flashed the graphic on that. Opposing hitters on his change-up are hitting .421.
  19. All right. Sale lets the guy hit it. (This is CHris Sale, not Oil Can Boyd! who famously said he wanted guys to hit the ball because he had the greatest fielders in the world behind him. Having watched the games lately, does the Boyd-principle apply?)
  20. Sale strikes out the side and gets grief from the board??? Shees.

  22. It's also very amusing. Because we are paying closer attention, we are seeing not only good plays, but horrendous ones. I imagine at this point, for players, the fun has gone out of it, leaving nothing but stress and exhaustion--all these games just for the 50/50 chance (or much less in some scenarios) to get in the playoffs has to affect their play (e.g., Yankee dude not running out the K, stupid defensive plays all around, Devers' struggles in situations where he normally does well). Extremes by fans also amusing--so many here want to just give up and get it over with! then some miracle happens and the season seems recoverable, then some pop-up ...
  23. That is one of those situations where a walk is identical to a home run. You're exactly right. Even if you tee it up, throw a strike. (That's one of the things I liked about Barnes before his unaccountable collapse--his claim that as a late reliever, walks and home runs were in his mind the same.)
  24. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/32328371/mlb-playoffs-everything-need-know-tiebreakers-wild-cards-last-day-mlb-season I'd summarize this in a sentence or two, but I am only able to retain it in my head for a few seconds!
  25. Kike sucks.
